This week we will cover the Open Shows that have been held. Firstly let take ourselves up to Bonnie Scotland where the The Papillon Club of Scotland held their Open show. For this show it was to be breed specialist Melanie Mann (Melangel) that was taking the helm and having the pleasure of spending the day going over our beautiful Papillons and Phalenes. I am sure Melanie had a wonderful time, enjoying herself to the max. The club always puts on a friendly show with plenty of social atmosphere and go that extra mile to make it a special day for everyone.

The principal winners were as follows; taking the top award for BIS/ BD was Liz Anderson’s Ch Frasermar Storm In The Snow. What a good day Liz had taking also the BVIS award with CH/Am CH Clearlake Clovis and then finishing the day with BPB with Skyvana Unique. RBIS/ BOS Maridova’a Victoria’s Dream In Honrukia JW (IKC), BPIS Mary Whitehill and Pat Urwin’s Paparottsie Talk The Talk.

For the reserve awards: RBD Pam Taylor’s Adnamasham Craigland For Pamhurst, RBB Sue Deamer’s Grinsdale Sweet Caroline At Bankshill. Best Junior Handler for the show was Kyle Davidson.

At the Lincoln CS Elaine Stanmore (Altaya) was taking on the task of judging the breed and here she found her BOB to be Heather Aitkin’s Elfuago A New Adventure with Carol Lees taking the RBOB with Lafford Fireman Sam.

Luton CA Premier Open Show saw breed specialist Jon Caton (Henrix) judge the breed and Mr Ray Moreland judging the TGP. A successful show for Kirsty Miller and Evan Ryan’s taking BOB and TGP4 with Feorlig Smarty Pants JW and RBOB with Feorlig Wake Up Maggie JW. BP went to Davidson’s Cintarshe Red Emerald.

At Coventry Ladies KS, Mr Rob McLeod (Dunline) judged both the breed and TGP. Kirsty Miller and Evan Ryan had another good day here taking BOB and TGP1 with Feorlig Smarty Pants JW. RBOB was Mrs J & Miss J Nash’s Ookiimimi Just Imagine.

At Stockport Toy Dog where Kevin Sharpe-Dixon was judging the breed news has come in from Christine & Aiden Foynes, they both must have been mega excited to win BVIB with Jhanakia Masquerade at Lafay, then finally finishing the day in a great manner with the ultimate award of BVIS under well respected Toy Specialist Mr Tom Mather. Congratulations on a brilliant day both of you and of course the breeders Jane Thompson and Sandra Austin who must have been delighted.

For all those folk that perhaps have been under the weather recently with one germ gremlin or another I wish you a speedy recovery and hope it isn’t too long before you are back to bouncing. I believe Michele Buss has been having a rough time lately in the sickly department, get well soon Michele and we hope to see you at the shows very soon. If you know of anyone that has been under the weather and would like me to include a personal get well message in the breed notes, just let me know please. Sometimes when you are down it is up lifting to know others are caring about you.

Catch up with you all next week, stick the kettle on and relax over the pages of the Our Dogs newspaper, what better way is there to spend a moment or two of the day.
