08 December 2023 Papillon Breed Notes

Let’s have a little gander at the Open Shows that have been taking place Well done to everyone involved,.
Firstly there is a new society on the calendar The North West Toy & Utility Open Show. How refreshing to hear of a new society that has opened its doors to the exhibitors for the show season. I have heard the show had super entries and was a complete success. There were lots of goodies on offer and beautiful framed rosettes and award cards for the principal winners. Congratulations to John Purnell and the hard working committee for making this possible.
For the Papillons the judge was Marion Sargent (Tegwani) who awarded BOB to Helens Walsh’s Purepixie Red Admiral, Helen also took Best Veteran and RBVIS with her pretty little girl Ch Jorgealin Moonstar At Purepixie. The judge for BVIS was well respected Mrs Liz Stannard. Best Puppy was Susan Lanson’s Empire Of Havanna Wu Wen At Cantoverde. Congratulations to you both.

West Bromwich and Wednesbury Open Show saw breed specialist Petula Humphrey (Gloynbyw) judging the breed. Here the BOB was Jo Davidson-Poston with Dual CH Sky Butterfly Elven Cron Prince Spinillons SK Winner23 (Imp Rus) who also went on to take a successful TGP2. Another success on the day for Jo was Best Puppy with Elena Kolekcja Szuwarka Spinillons (IKC) who also took a TPGP3. I should imagine there big smiles. Many congratulations. RBOB was Carol Lees’s Lafford Black Onyx JW.

Spire Toy Dog Premier Show is always a lovely show to attend and the committee really do try in every way to make it special for the judges and exhibitors. Here the judge was very well respected Breed Specialist Cheryl Lockett. BOB went to I am sure a thrilled Chris and Tony Headley’s Yeldaeh Lady in Red who also took BIS3. Many congratulations to you both. RBOB was Steve and Karen Maskell and Maxine Waller’s Lilnrose I’m in the Limelight with Kazkell. Best Puppy In Breed and BPD Lindsey Slater’s Bresar’s Almeno Tu Nell’ Universo in Zizula (imp Italy) and lastly BPB Hanson’s Glendian Clover at Basilbrooke.
Congratulations to everyone and well done on flying the Papillon flag high at all three shows.

Next week I will report on The Northern & Eastern Counties Papillon Club Championship Show where breed specialist Mrs Ann Richardson (Belvane) was judging.

Take care of yourselves and all those lovely four paws.
