08 January 2016 – Dog World
The final results have been announced for the annual competitions for 2015. Many of the individual competitions were closely run, so hearty congratulations to not only the winners but also to those that were within spitting distance of the top spot. If personal goals for your overall year of showing the dogs was achieved or surpassed give yourself a pat on the back. It doesn’t matter at whatever level your intended aim was, you did it and each and every one of you should feel justifiably proud.
We, as exhibitors we owe our thanks to the sponsors of the competitions, without their support there would be no thrill of striving for the ultimate recognition. Both DOG WORLD and Our Dogs newspapers feature majorly in being the front sponsors and this we are so grateful. Collating the points for each competition must be a nightmare on its own. Sponsors joining the two papers for the individual competitions are Arden Grange, Yumega, Royal Canin and Natures Menu. So please join me, in saying a huge thank you to you all. The winners for the annual competitions are as follows.
This year it was history in the making for the Papillon. It was a year that we can all take a pride at some point of being involved within the breed. Top Dog All Breeds 2015 was our very own Travis, Ch Gleniren Shootin Starmaker Sunshoo. Travis also took Top Toy and Top Papillon. These three individual competitions sponsored by DW and Arden Grange. The Top Brood sponsored by DW / Yumega was Irene & Glenn Robb’s CH Gleniren Juniper Starmaker. For Top Stud the sponsors DW / Royal Canin was Lynda Woodrow’s Ablazzor Fly Me First Class to Lynflyer. For the youngsters the Top Puppy was sponsored by Our Dogs and Natures Menu this year the top spot was shared by two kennels. The two kennels being Lynda Woodrow with Lynflyer Winter Sparkle and Tom Isherwood & Mr Da Silva’s Afterglow Mouseketeer. Lastly the Top Breeder Award with OD and Arden Grange sponsoring was Gleniren, Irene & Glenn Robb. Congratulations to everyone – celebrate and enjoy.
Back onto the Open Show stage Karen Diprose has been receiving success at her last two shows. At Colchester & DCS Powdermill Look Here at Lilacrose took a strong TGP1. Judging the breed was Jane Eyeington and Eddie Bishop performed the honours as the Group judge. I believe the judges had to step in at the last minute of which I am sure the exhibitors were most grateful. Then at Karen’s next show at Luton CS with a good entry of twenty Papillons she won TGP2 following on from her previous TGP1 with P Look Here at Lilacrose. The breed judge was Evan L Ryan & and the TGP judge Meg Purnell-Carpenter. What a super way to end the year Karen.
At Oakengates DCS Christmas Open Show, the Christmas festivities were very evident with exhibitors sporting their Christmas jumpers. The club had received a super entry and all rings were a hive of activity. I took little Dustin (Gleniren Stardustmaker) along for our last show of the year and it was lovely to chat and be social with so many doggie friends. Dustin had a lovely day taking TGP1 / TPGP1 under Raye Parry and finished the showing year off to a glorious finale taking RBPIS under Jane Lilley. Well done to the committee for putting on such a social day.
So we are into the New Year for 2016. When reading this, Boston is fast approaching with Mr Michael Quinney being our Papillon judge. So back on the merry-go-round for another year of fun, filled dog shows. May everyone have health, happiness and your dreams fulfilled whether you are showing, breeding, judging, trade stand owner, newspaper writers or just a spectator. Enjoy to the max the one thing that gives us so much joy and is very special to us all. Quite simply, it’s the love of the canine world.
