09 December 2022 Papillon Breed Notes
Does anyone else get the feeling that it seems we are going at rocket speed towards Christmas with us now at the last general Championship Show of the year which is The Ladies Kennel Club held at the NEC. This is a show that exhibitors look forward to and it always has a celebration Christmas atmosphere. The committee work tirelessly to make everything just perfect. Even down to decorating a number of Christmas trees.
For many it is an exciting and perhaps stressful show. For those exhibitors that have been accumulating the points over the year for Top Adult or Top Puppy for their breeds it is a last chance to hold on to the top spot or take the top spot. Good luck to everyone
Sad news announced as this will be the last time LKA will be held at the NEC as it will be moving to Staffordshire County Showground for 2023. Possibly, a sad and poignant moment for many exhibitors, as many a joyous time for this show was spent at the NEC with many memories.
I suppose it is a sign of the world around us and people’s perspectives having to alter. There are so many elements to consider, costs continually rising for the Societies, costs in general life rising for the exhibitors. Somehow things have to balance out to make the showing of dogs a cost worthy experience for one and all.
A few Open Shows to report on with successes across the board for our beloved breed.
At Plymouth & District Canine Society Open Show the judge was Val Palmer here she found Sue Stanbury’s Inixia Made By Design to be BOB and Dee Olaf’s Tarnock Sweep The Board BPIB and RBOB.

Torquay & District Canine Society Open Show showed the Papillons in full glory with Sue Stanbury’s Inixia Made By Design taking BOB, Dee Olaf had a lovely day taking BPIB and TPGP1 with Tarnock Sweep The Board and I am sure Hazel Malcolm must have been over the moon to be awarded Champion of Champions for the show with Ch Feorlig It Must’ve Been Love. RBOB was Susie and Margaret Orchard’s Panspayon Natasha. What a thrilling day for everyone.
Enjoy your showing and look after those precious four paws.
