Well, I know we all wanted some sunshine on our backs, but the last few weeks have been extraordinary beyond belief. So most of you I am sure have been equipped with cool mats, iced water, fans and sun umbrellas on your, I must have list, for the dog shows. It certainly makes a change from wellies and fleeces. Thank goodness for air con in the cars as this makes the journey bearable for two legs and four legs.

I watched a video about a vet who had shown the heat over a short period of time than can be generated in the cars during hot weather, even with the windows slightly down. It was frightening and beyond imaginable thought of the suffering caused to animals left in cars in this weather. Please if you see any animal left in a car, do something about it before it is too late.

The next show on the showing calendar has been East of England. I couldn’t make the show but Glenn trundled along with Imogen our Pomeranian. As always at this show the little ones are in the main hall and it turned out the Pom and Pap ring were adjacent to each other.

Breed specialist Brian Lees (Lafford) was judging his first set of Challenge certificates for the breed, so it must have been a very special day for him and no doubt his wife Carol managed to get many pictures during the day to mark the occasion in the memory files. The principal winners were as follows. A super day for Liz Anderson with Peter handling taking the DCC/BOB with Ch Frasermar Storm In The Snow and shortlisted in the Toy Group under Bryan Claydon. For the BCC I am sure a very delighted Estelle Kirk with her pretty little one Iotastar’s Forever Autumn At Kirkchase taking her magical third cc. I am absolutely delighted for you Estelle and of course also an exciting time for her breeder Julie Mowatt. Another BP award for Sue Stanbury’s Inixia Ever Ready Eddie and Michele Buss continues her BV awards with Twiggy Cupcake Of Flutura, Best Special Beginners Kay Tidmarsh’s Cintarshe Red Garnet For Creliatown. RDCC Katherine Bull’s Altaya Star Attraction and the RBCC Caroline Lee- Slater’s Ch Jorgealin Cast A Spell For Kingshaven. Hearty congratulations everyone, all the principal winners, class winners and more importantly if you achieved your individual goal that you set yourself for the day.

Pat and Brian Cox had a brilliant day at South Western Toy Dog Club going on to a glorious RBIS with Tricianbri Tuppence. a Kiss JW. Taking BOB under Mrs I. Jennings (Jumelhei) and RBIS under Miss L.Tarabad.(Khatibi). There were nineteen Toy breeds present. Pat sent me a message saying SWTDC Show is a delightful show in a really good and accessible venue, with the added plus of being very near to a good fish shop to visit after the show, if time allows. They were very fortunate to have ten Pap classes, two of which are dog and bitch puppy classes. The exhibitors send their thanks to the clubs Secretary, Peter Boot for letting the breed have a puppy walk, which was much appreciated and hopefully will be repeated for the next show.

Other principal results for SWTDC were RBOB Sue Morrell’s Temelora Let It Be Magic JW, BP and TPGP3 Sue Stanbury’s Inixia Ever Ready Eddie and BVIS Smith & Simon’s Ringland Forest Fern.

Well done everyone, keep the Pap flag flying high.
