14 August 2020 Breed Notes

Sad news that two more Championship Shows have been forced to cancel. Firstly Blackpool, the committee have shown strength and commitment in hope the show would carry on. But alas it was not to be. This message came through from Michaela Hall.

BLACKPOOL CANCELLED
Preston could be the country’s next area to have new Coronavirus restrictions imposed amid a surge of Covid-19 cases there, council bosses have said.
Residents in the Lancashire city have been strongly advised to avoid hosting visitors at homes as fears grow that government intervention will be needed if the growing spike cannot be brought under control.
The city is next door to Blackburn – currently suffering the highest infection rates in the country – and just north- west of Greater Manchester, which was placed into a partial lockdown last Friday with guests at home rendered temporarily unlawful.
Whilst no one can accurately predict what will happen in the next few weeks the Committee have decided due to the above if we cancel now before anyone has actually entered on-line exhibitors will not lose out financially, however, if you have already entered by post your entry including your cheque will be destroyed.
Thank you Michaela Hall

Unfortunately there will be no Christmas dog show celebrations for 2020.

LKA PRESS RELEASE 3rd AUGUST.
LADIES KENNEL CLUB ASSOCOATION 2020 SHOW CANCELLED.
The officers and committee of LKA very sadly regret to announce that our Championship Show due to take place on the 12th / 13th December 2020 at the NEC is now cancelled.
We have been working very hard behind the scenes with the NEC and attempted to see our way through the Government COVIDS 19 Regulations on how our large indoor show could be safely managed and allow us to go ahead.
After taking all matters into consideration but placing as a priority the welfare and safety of our exhibitors, judges, stewards, trade stands , and the many helpers that to give up their time to work with us. It was deemed necessary to cancel the show this year. All the judges, contractors and the many people that help us put on the show will of course be informed separately.
We hope you understand our decision and look forward to seeing you all at our 2021 show which we will plan to be bigger and better than ever.
Gillian Marley. ( LKA Secretary)

LUTON CANINE OPEN SHOW.
It is with great sadness that the 2 day Open Show on December 30 & 31 for Luton Canine Association is now officially cancelled. It was thought by the Committee that it would be impossible to keep 2ft apart let alone 2metres.
All our judges will be contacted and offered the same breeds in 2021.
On a personal side I never thought that in my 50th year as Secretary that I would be cancelling our lovely Christmas show loved by many.
We are hoping that we will be able to hold our show in 2021 on the last 2 days of the year. In the mean time we wish you all well and stay safe.
Ben Reynolds Frost.
