16 September 2016 – Our Dogs

We start this week with an amendment to my last notes which should have read, Ch Lafford Kandy Floss bred by Carol Lees, owned by Sue Victor and handled by Caroline Lee Slater, and not as stated. The South of England Papillon Club have some spaces left on the morning session of their Breed Specific Seminar and Judging Competence Assessment day to be held at Hampstead Norreys Village Hall, Nr Thatcham RG18 0TR on Saturday 15th Ocotober. The places are for the morning session and Lunch, with the breed presentation by Mrs Ann Richardson. Details can be had from the club website or contact Susie Orchard via FB.

We have had a lovely visitor over from the America with us for the last few shows. Maxine Rabinowe has spent some time with us this summer. She has been showing her first Papillon, which she bought from Ted and Mary Whitehill. What a lovely story behind this, as Maxine’s daughter whilst studying at Cambridge University became a little unwell. Maxine wanted a small breed to travel with her and to show, so she approached after doing her homework Mary and Ted. Maxine purchased a male that was to become in her first year of showing American Champion Amicae Moondust. He sure is going to be a much travelled pooch!

After Richmond Championship Show she was heading home but we do hope to see her back with us again soon. Richmond Championship Show saw our judge Mr Stephen Bardwell award Irene and Glenn Robbs top winning male Ch Gleniren Shootin Starmaker Sunshoo BOB he then went on to win group 2 under group judge Annukka Paloheimo from Finland. The Bitch CC once again went to my own Ch Omegaville Make Me A Petitchien, with the Dog RCC Joe Magri and Kevin Arrowsmiths top male Ch Rozamie Dream Lover and Bitch Reserve CC to Pat Beadles Bedellus Jazz Time. Best Puppy was Mrs J Wiggins ROzamie Monsieur Arthur for Scapafield and Best Veteran to Karen Maskells Kazkell Velvet Dream JW.

Another celebration going on at Richmond was Anne Borgs cake and drinks to celebrate her newly crowned Champion. Cup cakes iced with an initial on the top spelling out the congratulations etc where the order of the day iced of course by Anne. This weekend we are all at Darlington Ch Show, lets hope the motorways are kind to us all. Safe journey and see you there.
