17 April 2015 – Dog World

South Wales Papillon Club held their Open Show and I believe enjoyed lovely weather. Sorry I have tried to find out details of the goings on at the show but unfortunately no details have been forthcoming except for the principal winners. Breed Specialist Mrs Benita Bartlett (Brontigaer) was judging our lovely breed and she found her winners of the day to be as follows; BB & BIS Alexandra Forth’s Multi / Int CH Emma AJA Gabritho Marestel (imp Aut). BOS Sue Stanbury’s Inixia Saucy Sam, BP French’s Nightfires All I Want (Imp Deu) and BV Michele Osborne & Sue Stanbury’s CH Tykkydewas Santa’s Gift to Inixia. For the junior handling Beth Holmes took on the task of putting the juniors through their paces. For the 6 – 11yrs Cerys Osborne aged 7yrs was the class winner and for the 12-16yrs Kathryn Sellick aged 13yrs won the class and BJHIS. Well done to you both and of course all the principal winners.

At Llanysul Canine Society John & Ann Cooper had a lovely day with Toot Sweet’s Charming Casanova where he won TGP1 under breed and group judge Mrs Janice Bannister then going on to be awarded RBIS under BIS Judge Mr Howard Ogden.

Well beautiful weather here there is definitely a spring in its step at present, long may it continue. The next show to report on will be the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club which is held at the KC buildings, Stoneleigh on the 18th April. A lovely entry has been received and I am sure the Pap Club Committee is very grateful to the exhibitors. The show has a total of 238 entries which include 27 NFC. The break down is as follows; dogs- 103 (Stuart Mallard), bitches- 89 (Amanda Bruce-Jackson), Champions Parade 5 and for the puppy walk 11 entertaining youngsters. For the Junior Handlers there will be eight juniors competing and Mr Rob Sansom (Byermoor) will be their judge as well as judging the BIS. The show is sponsored by Royal Canin. Full catering will be available and there are a number of trade stands present; Hub International, Eileen Roberts and of course the club stall. We will be all treated in the lunch break to the presentation of the PBDC Annual Awards, the Champions Parade and the puppy walk. Looks like it going to be a great show, can’t wait. Exhibitors please note that it is uncertain which ring the juniors will commence in at 9am. Main judging starts at 9.30am.

Entries for Papillons for WELK the following weekend are 123/140. There breed specialist Mrs Ann Summerfield (Annfield) will be taking on the task of judging our breed. WELKS is a lovely show when the sun shines, so fingers crossed everyone.

Until then happy showing and enjoy every bit of the sunshine.
