17 January 2020 Breed Notes

The first Championship Show of the New Year held at the East of England Showground is Boston Championship Show. The committee always work so hard to get all areas looking spick and span and from the pictures I saw on Facebook this year was no exception.

No news has come through of the goings on, only the results but I hope everyone there had an enjoyable show. Karen Farrell was judging the breed and I am sure she enjoyed going over the dogs. The principal winners were as follows.BCC/BOB Shane & Lynda Church’s Invanese Tantrums And Tears, DCC Church’s and Dawn Jenkin’s Invanese Toil And Trouble, RBCC Church’s Invanese Tantrums N’ Tiaras and the RDCC Brett’s Goldmali Joyride. BP went to Isherwood/ Gadsby and Stone’s Stagedoor Peppermint Patty (taf) and lastly Best Spec Beginners Kay Tidmarsh’s Harriach Sweet Basil For Creliatown

Hazel Malcolm had a successful show at Taunton and District Canine Association Open Show two day show. The Papillon judge was Michaela Hills (Sharhaziah). A good entry of 12 Papillons over 3 classes with Hazels Feorlig It Must’ve Been Love winning BOB and being shortlisted to the final 7 in the Group.

Some judges to add to your diary. Northern & Eastern Counties Papillon Club Championship Show has moved back to November where it was originally was many moons ago. It will now be November 8th. The judges are both breed specialists and first time challenge certificate appointments. Jacqueline Hill is judging the dogs and (bitches) Rev Kirsty Wells. The refree is still to be decided. City Of Birmingham Championship Show judge is Toy Specialist Stephen Bardwell. For the breed club open shows; at Northern & Eastern Counties Papillon Club Open Show 1st March Toy specialist Antony Oakden and South Wales Papillon Club on the 5th April breed specialist Alexander Forth.

For those of you at Manchester Championship Show take a visit to the Our Dogs stand and pick up the paper. There is a Papillon Feature in this issue and I am sure whether you are a seasoned or novice exhibitor it will be enjoyable reading. It is always exciting that your breed is the feature in the newspaper.

Good luck at Manchester to everyone going. We have the well respected all rounder, who has a wealth of experience in the canine world Jill Peak (Bayard) giving challenge certificate in Papillons for the first time.

If anyone would like a cough, cold flu type gremlin it is going free to a responsible owner!

Enjoy your shows and have fun.
