17 May 2019 Breed Notes

Glorious show with the Papillon Dyan taking Best in Show at Birmingham National Championship Show held at Stafford. The weather was cold but dry after the few days of continual rain that everyone had experienced. Papillons were ringed in the Prestwood Centre a spacious ring was laid out with easy access to the main hall. Once again the committee of the show made sure all was ticka –tee- boo and the exhibitors were catered for in every way.

The trade stands were both on the upper gallery and spread out down the main walk way outside. There was a good variation of stalls making sure everyone’s needs were catered for.

Rob Sansom took the helm for judging the Papillons and arrived looking smart and ready for his judging day. The principal winner for the breed judging was as follows. DCC/BOB/TGP1/BIS. Kathleen Roosens’s Planet Waves Forever Young Daydream Believers. Group judge Tony Allcock MBE and BIS judge Sandra Marshall. Congratulations to all the co-owners , what a dream year this has been for them all. BCC Kay Stewart and Kirsten Stewart-Knight’s Denemore Tell The Story Ragge To Tussalud they also took BV with Ch Denemore Story’s Echo At Tussalud. BP Kathleen Roosen’s Rollercoaster Daydream Believers, Best Special Beginners Ann Meacham’s Moonlight Magical Melangel. RDCC Liz and Alan Bartram’s Ch Tresor’s Kings Valiant Lancelot (Imp USA) and RBCC Sophie Langdon’s Ch Shadowknight Ebony Rose Of Skyvana JW. Congratulations to everyone.

For the Open Shows Sue Morrell had a good day at West Country Dog Club where Serenglade Leap of Faith for Temelora (Phalene) won BOB and TGP 2, and Tricianbri Harry Beau for Temelora won BP under judge, Ellie Mordecai.

At Merseyside Toy Dog where the breed judge was Ken Bartlett and the BIS judge was Shelda Hornsby. Chris Anderson had her six month old puppy Pappretty I Want A Hero at his first show. She must have been delighted to take BPIB and be shortlisted in the TPGP.

Lizzie Morley and Robert Hitchcock’s Berestead Belle Noire at LizLanMor won BPIB and BPIS 3 at South Eastern Counties Toy Dog open show. The breed judge was Phillip Lovel and BIS judge Gail Saffer.

An amendment for The Papillon (Butterfly) Dog Club results from last week the owner for Kazim Uptown Girl should have read Denise Welsh.

Have a lovely week and well done for flying the flag so high for the Papillons.
