19 December 2014 – Dog World
Good news that the Hazelbakers Papillon Fundraising efforts across the globe to save forty six Papillons from the fate of a dog auction held on the 7th Dec in the USA was one hundred percent successful. Many Papillon lovers from all over donated cash or donated items for bids to raise money to enable these Papillons of various ages to fall into safe hands and ensure that they would after vet checking be placed in loving, caring homes. All those involved should be very proud of their efforts. The successful organised bidders for the auction were Julexa Motega, May Hakel and a gentleman called Steve our thanks must go for their dedicated involvement.
The next step I hope will be to put into action awareness to the governments concerned that this type of activity was not acceptable to the canine world. We cannot make the auctioneers and those involved in this practice feel that dog lovers will supply monetary funds to bulge their pockets; otherwise the efforts will be in vain. The first step has been a huge success and now it is time to act on a higher level in the USA to prevent this occurring at regular intervals to safe guard any canine breed put up for auction.
