19 June 2015 – Dog World
Jerry Munroe secretary of the Northern & Eastern Counties Papillon Club has issued the following statement, it reads as follows.
I wish to notify all members and exhibitors of a change in the dog judge at our forthcoming show on Saturday 25 July 2015. Due to an error, the Kennel Club are unable to process and confirm Miss Kirsten Stewart-Knight’s appointment in time for the show. I take full responsibility for this error and I apologise unreservedly to Miss Stewart-Knight for any embarrassment or distress this may have caused. I also wish it to be known that this is in no way a reflection of her application or her suitability as a judge.
The dogs will now be judged by Mrs Elizabeth Cochrane (Tutyak) and we thank her for agreeing to take this appointment at this stage. Bitches will be judged by Mrs Carol Lees (Lafford), and the referee is Mrs Jean Banfield. Mrs Banfield will also judge the Junior Handling and Puppy Walk. All judges are subject to KC approval. I will be contacting exhibitors who have already submitted entries in case they wish to amend their entry following the change of judge. I apologise to all our members and exhibitors and hope that you will continue to support our show.
Jerry Munroe, Secretary, N & E Counties Papillon Club.
Our hearts go out to Kirsten for this to happen. This was to be her first time for awarding Challenge Certificates and she must have been so excited when invited some years ago. To be given this news just weeks before the show date must have been devastating. I truly hope another judging appointment comes along the way in the very near future.
The club must have been very relieved that another breed specialist Mrs Elizabeth Cochrane (Tutyak) agreed to step in with such short notice. I am sure despite this blip that the show will continue with the usual friendly atmosphere that we have become accustomed to at Northern & Eastern.
Three Counties held at the Showground in Malvern. It was a weather bag of dollie mixtures, sun at intervals but then a biting wind that froze you through. The rings at the bottom end nearest the car park experienced drifts of dust blowing straight across the rings as the winds picked up. That must have not been a pleasant experience for those in the ring. There was a good array of trade stands, with plenty to see and purchase.
On this occasion Ms Veronica Hourihane was judging our breed. DCC/BOB was awarded to a thrilled Sue Morrell and Thesbina Teaque with Temelora Bobby Dazzler JW, BCC went to an equally overjoyed Jenny Scovell with Afterglow Papa Don’t Preach as I believe this was the magical third. Jenny also took the RDCC with Frasermar Explosion at Caswell, RBCC Pat Beadle’s Bedellus Jazz Time. Sue Stanbury went on to take BP with Inixia Cheeky Chap (naf).
On another note our good wishes are with Sue Morrell well as she starts her hospital treatment the following Monday after the show. Our thoughts will be with you in the weeks that are ahead Sue and wish you a speedy recovery. So nice that Thes will be with you every step of the way, that’s what true friends are for.
It was nice to see Ruth Johnston (Dourhu) at the show with Doug. When speaking with Ruth she was hoping on her return to Bonnie Scotland a letter from the hospital would be there to let her know when she was to go in for her forthcoming operation. I am sure you will share with me and wish Sue and Ruth both a speedy recovery, we look forward to seeing you both fit and well at the ringside very soon.
Border Union news next week, le’s hope the sunshine holds out as it is a glorious show when the weather holds.
