21 October 2016 – Dog World

Apologies for no breed notes last week but attentions and energies were focused on the birth of my daughter Tanya’s, baby girl Kyla. From Driffield, we made a hasty dash home and then onto to the Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough, Kent. We arrived close to midnight and Kyla obviously knew she had to wait until we were there, making her presence at 5am. It had been a long day from 3am the day before but just fantastic that we were able to be there and all was perfect. Thank you so much for the beautiful cards I have received, you really are all so kind.

Driffield Championship show held at Wetherby Racecourse was a misty and cold start. Even though the sun was trying hard to break, the biting wind told you otherwise. This show has so many extra things on offer; the committee really do try to make it the best possible day for the exhibitors.

Toy all rounder Mr Eddie Bishop was judging our breed for the first time and arrived promptly and smartly attired. The day went smoothly along with the help of his two proficient stewards. Stewarding is a task Mr Bishop is well in tune with, many of you will know him best for his stewarding of the Papillons at Crufts over the last few years.

The principal winners for the day were as follows; BCC/BOB Alexandra Forth’s Ch Omegaville Make Me A Petitchien, DCC Joe Magri & Kevin Arrowsmith’s Ch Rozamie Dream Lover, RDCC Irene & Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Shootin Starmaker Sunshoo, RBCC Sue Victor’s Ch Lafford Kandy Floss JW and BP Irene & Glenn Robb’s Gleniren For Your Eyes Only. Congratulations not only to the principal winners but also the class winners.

News has come in that Hazel Barr who resides in Scotland, is currently in hospital after an operation. I wish you a speedy recovery Hazel along with I am sure everyone in the Papillon world. I hope it won’t be too long before you are on top form once again. Sending you lots of get well wishes.

Take care travelling on the roads everyone as the mornings and night are closing in far too quickly.
