The hills and countryside awaited exhibitors for the journey to scenic Malvern for the Three Counties Show. The morning was dry, but oh so cold which chilled you to the bones. Everyone waited in anticipation for the sun get out of bed which it eventually did in the afternoon. As always the trade stands were aplenty, for folk to browse and collect what was needed for the four paws. All the rings were mown and of a spacious size and the ground looked a picture. Malvern is so much better outside for showing than if your breed has been allocated a hall which the Papillon had. So that was certainly a favourable point for the social day.

For this show, breed specialist Sue Morrell (Temelora) was taking the helm and she got through her day nicely with the help of her experienced stewards. The principal winners for the show were DCC / BOB / TGP1 Sue and Jon Caton’s Never Let Me Go Forussi at Henrix (Imp), many congratulations to you both, on a fabulous day. For the TGP the judge was Mr Tony Allcock MBE. It is always lovely seeing Papillons flying the flag high at the shows. BCC Sean Carroll and James Newman’s Denemore The Story Of Ragge, BP and RBCC Gordon and Cathy Urquhart’s Blackpark Patricia, RDCC Lisa and Chris Christensen’s (handled by Liz Bartram) Tresor’s Kings Valiant Lancelot and finally BV Michele Buss’s Ch Twiggy Cupcake Of Flutura JW.

The next show on the calendar was a trip up to Border Union in Kelso, again were you can digest the beautiful scenery on the journey up. Unfortunately the dry weather was not so favourable and the rains descended early in the morning so all exhibitors scrambled to the tenting. This is where the in out tenting is such a bonus as it makes things so much easier.

For this show it was a first time cc judging experience for Ann Stevenson (Jeminai), of which I hope she enjoyed her special day. Lots of jubilations were in store for the principal winners and I am sure cloud nine was fully booked on the way home. Congratulations to everyone. BCC/ BOB Ken Fulton’s Milbu Warlock at Kenf (imp), BP Vicki Fenn Webber’s Adnamashan Take That, congratulations also to the breeder Angela Skelton. DCC Ian Reid’s Phylcher Heartbreaker, congratulations also to the breeder Nadia Angharad Al-bazi. RDCC Jane Thompson and Sandra Austin’s Melangel Highland Vogue at Jhanakia further congratulations to Melanie Mann the breeder. The RBCC went to a homebred little girl Susan Lanson’s Cantoverde Royal Chyna.

On the Open Show scene Susie and Margaret Orchard had a good day at Taunton & District Canine Association when their Panspayon Eye Of The Storm took BOB and TGP3. Not to be outdone Jenny Casey’s puppy Lilacrose Look At Me for Shamal went on to take a TPGP3. The judge was Mr Michael Pullen (Hestia).

Papillon entries for East of England under breed specialist, Brian Lees are 100/116 and for Windsor for another breed specialist Pat Cox is 90/92.

Congratulations to everyone who has been at the shows, send me your results as we all want to hear your successful news. For those in their caravans/ motor homes for the up and coming summer shows take care on the roads and enjoy your time away to the max.
