22 November 2019 Breed Notes

The Papillon (Butterfly) Club held their Christmas Open Show at St Mary’s Hall in Solihull. I am sure the club were delighted with the super entry of 78 dogs making 97 entries. Chris Headley had been busy baking and beautifully decorating some Christmas cakes for silent auctions. An extra surprise in store with Christmas hampers I believe on offer also to all the principal winners. It sounds like the club had pulled out all the stops to make the Christmas show one to be remembered.

Christmas jumpers at the ready and from the pictures I have seen many exhibitors joined in the fun. Jenny Scovell picked Carol Lees jumper as her favourite on the day.

Breed specialist Helen Wheeler took to the helm and I hope she enjoyed her day to the max. Principal winners for the show were as follows; Congratulations to Pat Munn on taking BIS/ BD with Ch Ringlands Timeless Gift, RBIS/ RBD Sheila Wilkinson’s Lafford Inspector Morse in Poppywood, handled on the day by Carol Lees the breeder. BOS/ BB went to Lizzie Morley and Robert Hitchcock’s Jorgealin Indian Magic at Lizlanmor. BPIS/BPB Caroline Lee- Slater’s Graycaz Eh Reka and RBPIS/ BPD Sue Stanbury & Sophie Langdon’s Skyvana Zero Hour for Inixia. BV Sue Morrell’s Temelora Bobby Dazzler JW, BPHIS Queenie Bruce’s Tijuana Mayhem, Best fringes Dee Olof’s Tarnock Runaway Ruby and RBB Carol Lees Lafford Golden Child.
Noah Tarabad judged the Special award classes and also the Junior Handling. Lance Morley was awarded Best Junior Handler.

Over the pond Marian Sloan had a fabulous day at The Ulster Toy Dog Show Society. In the morning, Marians little guest, CarineRutten’s Up And Down’s Zola Majola, won the Toy Puppy of the year, under Mrs Winnie Mee. Sponsorship included an enormous bag of Happy Dog meal and an enourmous rosette.

For the Open Toy Group Show in the afternoon, success again for this little one, taking BPIB with BOB under Mrs M Johnston. The day, continued to get better and better with a BIS3 and BPIS under Mr H Stanley. More prizes to take home including more huge rosettes, Happy Dog meal and lovely new shampoo system to try out. I think Marian went home a very proud bunny and an even prouder breeder Carine Rutten.

Gill Breen enjoyed a successful day at Cambuslang Canine Club Open show at Lanark. Taking BOB/ TGP1 and finally the ultimate award of BIS with Amicae Highland Glen bred by Mary Whitehill. The judges were Chris Van De Burgt and Alison Kenny Marriott. Many congratulations to Marian Sloan and Gill Breen for flying the Papillon flag high.

Sue Stanbury and her daughter Jo had a long but successful day at Minehead & DCS. The breed and group judge was Mr Ken Bartlett (Dwilencia). BOB was awarded to Inixia Ever Ready Eddie shCM and RBOB / BPIB Skyvana Zero Hour For Inixia who is jointly owned with Sophie Langdon. Very well done to both Sue and Jo.

Well I guess the Christmas shopping commences and the mayhem begins. Enjoy the shows you are all attending and safe travelling.
