27th February 2026 Breed Notes

Ladies Kennel Club Championship Show is always a show that everyone looks forward to and the committee work tirelessly to ensure all the exhibitors have a good day. Many trade stands for everyone to browse or purchase their doggy items needed.
For the this show the Papillon judge was well respected and well known for his Papillon expertise Mr Kevin Arrowsmith. A good entry had been received and the grooming areas were full to the brim. The judge went over the dogs in a kind, considerate manner and gave the exhibitors every chance to show their four paws to their best advantage. The principal winners were as follow: BCC/BOB Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Miracle Starmaker who went on to take a lovely TGP2 under Mr Start Payne (Habiba) in a star studded Toy Group.

RBCC Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Miracle Starmaker. Eukanuba Champion Stakes judge Mr Tom Mather chose Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Miracle Starmaker to win the Toy and then the day’s heat at Manchester Championship Show. We were absolutely thrilled, thank you to Mr Mather.

Eukanuba Champion and Puppy Stakes prestigious final for 2025 was held at Chesworth Grange Febuary 2026 and it was a spectacular event. The judges for both the puppy and champions finals were not announced until the event was just about to start. For the Puppy Final it was well respected Richard Bott and for the Champion Final well respected Mrs Irene McManus. The line up for both finals was full of top quality dogs making a very difficult final choice for the Champion Stakes judge Mrs Irene McManus. Glenn and I were both delighted that Sophia (Ch Gleniren Miracle Starmaker ) was chosen to be in the last eight and the only toy to be selected. Well done Sophia and our thanks to the judge Mrs Irene McManus.
Congratulations to Eukanuba for giving everyone a lovely day and evening also to Our Dogs for live streaming the event.
Congratulations to everyone taking part at the shows. Good luck at the forthcoming shows for 2026. Of course everyone’s mind is focused on Crufts. For the Papillons this year the judge is well known breed specialist Angela Skelton who will make the trip down from bonnie Scotland. It is a special show for any Crufts judge and I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy every minute. Remember the second pair of shoes for those tired feet!
Papillons have an early start of 8.30am this year so give yourself plenty of time.

Good luck everyone and enjoy meeting people that perhaps you haven’t seen for ages.
