29th July 2022 Breed Notes
The next show to report on is Windsor Championship Show this is always a special show to everyone. With the backdrop of Windsor Castle, driving through Windsor and then arriving at the site of the venue Home Park. It is a magical seeing the show laid out in an immaculate fashion and the committee ready to greet you with a smile in their dusky pink jackets. I do miss not seeing the late Terry Nethercott, Terry was always sat on a chair as you went though the entrance to greet everyone.
Trade stands are a plenty for folk to browse and pick up their most wanted needs for the four paws.
Plenty of room for the trolleys and the marquees were laid out with in / out rings. It was a dry day and probably perfect showing weather with no blazing sun. So with everything in place, judging commenced on time. Mr Kevin Arrowsmith (Arrowbien) arrived looking very smartly suited and ready for the day ahead of him with the Papillon and Phalenes. The stewards as always ensured things went smoothly.
The judge went over the dogs as you would expect of a toy specialist in a kind, gentle manner. The ring was certainly large enough for all exhibitors to make sure their charges performed perfectly.
The principal winners were as follows. Mrs Yvonne Weber who had travelled from Germany for this show must have been delighted to receive top honours receiving DCC/ BOB with Aus DK Ch Ger Hun Slo Ch Swiss VDH Mi’DiLiva’s A Thousand Years, this being his second challenge certificate. Then the excitement of going on to TGP4 under Stephen Bardwell. A special meaning for us as the dog was sired by CH Gleniren Santeigo Sunshoo who was owned by Mia Aagard in Denmark. But it did not stop there as it was double joy taking the BCC with Multi Nightfire’s Very Special Bet. Which I believe was her second cc. Many congratulations.
BPIB / RBCC went to Irene and Glenn Robb youngster Gleniren Daddy’s Starmaker who also went Top Puppy Group1 under Anne Macdonald and not forgetting RDCC with Ch Gleniren Who’s Your Daddy
Karen Maskell took the top spot for the veterans with Robin the Limelight JW Sh.CM.
Congratulations to everyone at the show and a special thanks to Gary Thompson who was there doing the Papillon Live. What a huge benefit for those at home, enabling them to keep up with what was going on.
Next week a double show with East of England and The Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club Championship Show.
Until next week, everyone take care.
