30 November 2018 – Breed Notes
Open shows to report on for this week’s breed notes, the Papillons have been flying high, well done to everyone that has exhibited and had successful shows. Whether it may be a champ show or an open show I always profess that it takes the same time of preparation and dedication to attend, so full merit to those braving the cold during these November mornings. For those that came away with cards and prizes very well done but also to those exhibitors present that maybe it wasn’t their day. Societies need each and every one of you, without your commitment there would be no shows to enter. Exhibitors and Dog Clubs are a two way partnership and are both fully dependant on each other for the cogs of the dog world to be well oiled and moving smoothly. Societies have their tasks of endurance as like do the exhibitors, costs are being raised continually, venues harder to accommodate. Finding an even balance on the tightrope is ever increasingly hard. So in my book well done to you all, it is a hobby we love and love it we will!
Susan Lanson had a lovely day at Wigan & District CS Open Show under breed judge Tony Fleetwood (Abbeyleigh/Auberge). Both her youngster won their classes. Cantoverde Royal Chyna JW winning hers and Cantoverde Captain Casper JW taking BOB and TGP4.
At Selby Canine Society Lizzie Morley and Robert Hitcock’s Elfuago Bombastic took BOB under the breed judge Martin Frostick and TGP4 under group judge Wendy Waters (Sweetbrairs).
Rosemarie Hobson carried on the winning ways at Southport & Birkdale CS, the judge was Lynn Crane. All Rosemarie’s little ones had a winning day in their classes with her youngster Amicae Kenzo at Rosenjon taking BPIB and her Pappretty For Ever and Ever at Rosenjon taking RBIB. Chris and Aiden Foynes took BOB with Lafay Petite Etoile. Well done to you both.
Chris and Aiden Foynes were at Hyde & DC, here it was a repeat BOB for Lafay Petite Etoile with his brother Lafay Grand Prix winning his PG class. Rosemarie Hobson once again took BPIB with Amicae Kenzo at Rosenjon. Well done to the breeder Mary Whitehill of Amicae Kenzo at Rosenjon. What a couple of super shows, congratulations to you all on your winning two shows, celebrations all round, that is for sure.
Jane Thompson and Sandra Austin had a brilliant day at Spire Toy Dog. Here the judges were Wendy Walters (Sweetbriars) for the breed and BIS judge Cathy Urquhart (Blackpark). Their little one Melangel Enchanting Evita At Jhanakia taking BPIB and then going on to an exciting RBPIS. Their Melangel Highland Vogue at Jhanakia went on to take BOB. Congratulations also to Melanie Mann as the breeder of these two four paws.
Gill Breen at North of Scotland Toy Dog Society had a fabulous show under Shelda Hornby (Bramerita). There were twenty two Papillons entered and she must have been as proud as punch taking BPIB/BOB and ultimately BPIS with her little one Amicae Highland Glen. Now that is what I call a good day at the office! What another proud day for the breeder of this little one, well done Mary Whitehill.
Next week we will give all the news from The Papillon Club Open Show. Until then take care of yourselves and happy showing.
