31st March 2017 – Dog World

Our hearts go out to all involved in the Westminster tragedy, families never to be the same again. At times like this your heart weighs heavy with an emptiness of despair. The world holding claim to callous destruction and famine has to change and unite, just alone for the reason of the joy of living.

I have a three Open Shows to report. At Spire Toy Dog Society Jan Roosens of the De Costalina Kennel had travelled from France to judge our breed. What a successful day for the Lafford Kennel taking the awards of TPGP4 with Owner Sheila Wilkinson’s Lafford Inspector Morse in Poppywood and Carol Lees also being shortlisted in BIS with Lynflyer Winter Story at Lafford. The BIS/BPIS judge was Susan Tyler (Zumarnik). Whilst at Newark at the Retford Open Show Heather Aitkin was flying the lafford flag with Lafford Fancy That at Elfuago who took a TGP1 and BIS4 under judge Mary Deats. Many congratulations to everyone concerned.

Petula Humphreys is thrilled that at Caernarfon Canine Society Open Show Bonmeshays Ruby At Gloynbyw took a TGP4 under judge Bridgette Bodle. This was a special win for this little one as this gave her the certificate of SHcm. Petula also won TVGP1 with her twelve year old Glynllifon Pocket Rocket At Gloynbyw. I guess there were many celebrations all round that night.

At Ashton under Makerfield DCA Jackie O’Brien had a successful day with Jorgealin Mandolay at Nachi taking TPGP1 and RBPIS. The judges were Marion Sargeant and Steve Atkinson. Lynn George-Evans the breeder must have been delighted.

Alexandra Forth (Omegaville) has had a very serious fall, damaging her shoulder and both wrists badly. Certainly not an easy situation at the best of times for anyone and our thoughts go out to her for a speedy recovery. I last spoke briefly with her at the Pawscars and she was full if excitement with the imminent plans of moving home, since then I believe the prospect of doing so has taken a different path, so not an easy time for Alex at this moment in time. I am sure you will all join me sending positive vibes for happier times ahead.

Next week will bring news from UKTD. Stay safe on the roads. Can’t believe we are already nearly in the month of April. Easter bunnies here we come, hoppity hop folks or if you are a Malteser bunny, that may be difficult!
