25 July 2025 Papillon Breed Notes

Bath Championship Show is everyone’s must go to favourite show on the calendar. The whole show is immaculate with bowling green rings, which for toy breeds is perfection. On some occasions at shows it is a game of hunt the legs, they are there somewhere! But not at Bath our little ones can be seen in their full glory.
For this show Mr Ken Bartlett would be taking the helm for the Papillons, he arrived looking smart and ready for the day ahead with the assistance of his two experienced stewards. The judge went over the dogs in a kind and caring manner, making sure every exhibitor had the opportunity to showcase their exhibit.
The principal winners were as follows; BCC/ BOB / TGP2 Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Miracle Starmaker . To say we were thrilled was an understatement and to take a TGP2 in a quality TGP under Iain Sidgewick was indeed very special. BPIB was a delighted Melanie Mann with Braunswood Mask of Zorro by Melangel, BVIB and a fabulous VTGP2 Ann Griffith’s Manawyddan Victor Hugo, the judge was Mt G Davies. BSBIB/ BSBTGP1 Mrs J Matthew’s Baillion Be Unique. Many congratulations on a lovely win.
The Papillon flag certainly was flying high at Bath with Papillons being to the forefront at the show.
DCC Caroline Lee Slater’s Graycaz Etienne, RDCC Sue Morrell’s Melangel Magic Mix, RBCC Ryan, Roosens and Goessen’s Ch/multi Ch Uppercut Daydream Believers with Feorlig (Imp Bel) JW Ww’24.

Southern Counties next on the agenda and although I couldn’t be there I believe all went smoothly along. Mr Espen Engh (Norway) was judging the Papillons. He found his BCC/ BOB to be Susie Orchard’s Panspayon Pennyroyale, BPIB Melanie Mann’s Braunswood Mask of Zorro by Melangel, BVIB Gill Geary’s Taliesyn Black Walnut and BSBIB / BSBTGP1Mrs J Mathews’s Baillion Be Unique. The BSBTGP judge was Jill Peak. Congratulations on another lovely show. DCC Mr D & Mrs K Carter’s Graycaz On A Mission JW, RDCC Sue Stanbury’s Inixia Glamorous Guy and RBCC Cheryl Lockett’s Ch Panspayon Jewel of The Nile. Well done to everyone.

Next up to Scotland for Border Union for this show many exhibitors have a week away with their caravans and motor homes making a mini holiday. Marie Thorps (Ashaka) from Ireland was gracing the Papillon ring . She found her BCC/ BOB/ TGP2 to be Ryan, Roosens and Goessens’s Ch/multi Ch Uppercut Daydream Believers with Feorlig (Imp Bel) JW Ww’24 . Sue Smith (Sueacres) judged the TGP. BPIB was Vivienne Fenn Webber’s Tarnock Pocket Scotch, VB Mandy and Dave Thornton’s Ch Milbu Ciciobello at Shevid JW (Imp Lva). DCC Mrs C Proctor’s Springcroft Mardi Gras. I am lead to believe this is a first challenge certificate so huge congratulations. RDCC Caroline Lee Slater’s Graycaz Etienne and RBCC Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Miracle Starmaker.

Next week I will mention the Papillon Club of Scotlands show held in combination with this show.

Have a good time at the up and coming shows and safe travels.
