Critique

MPD (6,1)
1. Langdon’s Skyvana Van Helsing. 8 mth red sable/white. Only a baby but I thought him such a good type and so well balanced. Neck of moderate length, level topline, pleasing rib for age and nice firm loin. Nicely proportioned head with well defined stop, dark expressive eyes, large ears but slightly higher set than the ideal, correct muzzle and perfect dentition. Soundly made both front and rear, standing straight in front with nice width to chest, moving freely on the down and back and extending well in profile.
2. Posselwhite & Hudson’s Crazy Conan Laurettisza Taf. 6 mth red sable/white and another who pleased and was good to go over. He presented a nicely balanced outline with medium length of neck, super topline, good length to ribcage and firm loin. Correct skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, correct eyes for shape, set and colour but ears a little higher set than the ideal. Nicely angulated front and rear, moving true and covering the ground well on the go around. Excellent feet.
3. Olof’s Tarnock Romeo Romeo

PD (3,0)
1. Stanbury’s Inixia Ever Ready Eddie. 10 mth red sable/white and what a super pup he is! He scores for type and presents the most beautifully balanced outline with neck of moderate length, firm level topline, well ribbed back, strong loin, tail set on high of correct carriage and nice length to leg. He has the most appealing head and expression with correct proportions, slightly rounded skull, well defined stop, the very best of eyes and ears and excellent pigmentation. He was a delight to go over, with good layback of shoulder, elbows close to the chest, nice straight forelegs, correct hare feet and firm hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Moving freely fore and aft and extending well in profile and making the most of himself as he goes. Quality coat. Best Puppy.
2. Robb’s Gleniren Moonlight Magic. 10 mth black/white of completely different type to the winner and out of a smaller mould. Well balanced in outline with moderate length of neck, level topline, firm loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Dark expressive eyes of medium size, large ears set on correctly and with nice fringing, well defined stop, correct dentition but just a shade shorter in muzzle. Moving out so well in profile, nice and firm going away but winner had the edge coming towards. Delightful temperament and very well handled.
3. Urquhart’s Blackpark Tim

1. Olof’s Tarnock Rock N Roll Rene. 12½ mth red sable/white. Nicely marked youngster who pleased for size, balance and overall type. He has the most attractive head with good skull to muzzle proportions, slightly rounded skull, well defined stop, fine muzzle, medium sized eyes of correct size, colour and set and large ears of excellent set with super fringing. Nice length of neck, firm topline and good tail for both set and carriage but I would like to see his ribcage extend further back. Standing well in front on correct feet and moving out so well in profile with particular good rear action. Quality coat and presentation.

1. Stanbury’s Inixia Fully Charged. 10 mth red sable/white. Soundly constructed boy who uses himself at all times. He is a fraction longer than the ideal but good to go over, given his correct construction. Neck of medium length, excellent topline, good length to ribcage, strong loin and tail set on high and carried well. Nicely proportioned head with correct stop, eyes good for colour but slightly wider set, large ears set on well with good fringing and correct scissor bite. Well made both front and rear and moving out with purpose and nice and straight on the down and back. Good coat.
2. Maskell & Waller’s Kazkell A Million Dreams with Lilnrose. 8 mth tricolour who was not at all happy on the day due to a fright at a recent show. He pleased for type and size and is nicely balanced with neck of medium length, nice length to leg, ribbed well back, firm loin and when using it, his tail is set on well and of correct carriage. Topline needs to settle. Standing on correct feet, elbows close to the chest and firm hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Nicely proportioned head with dark medium-sized eyes and large ears set on correctly.

PGD (10,2)
1. Malcolm’s Feorlig It Must’ve Been Love. 21 mth red sable/white who has done well under me at Open level previously. He scores for size and balance and is such a good type. Moderate length of neck, firm topline, pleasing rib and tail correct for both set and carriage. He has the most attractive headpiece with good skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, fine muzzle, super eye and ear and correct dentition. Soundly built all through and an eye-catching mover in profile, covering the ground and using himself as he goes. He still is to mature and today his coat was not at its best but he more than deserved this class win.
2. Boughton & Stanbury’s Inixia Follower Of Fashion. 19 mth black/white who also appealed and he pushed the winner very hard. Nicely balanced with correct length of neck, level topline, good length to ribcage and firm loin. Tail set on high but carried rather tighter than the ideal. I loved his head and expression; correct skull to muzzle proportions, defined stop, first class eye and ear with nice fringing, fine muzzle and excellent dentition. Well constructed and moving freely with good ground coverage and making the most of himself at all times.
3. Morrell’s Serenglade Leap Of Faith for Temelora

1. Buss’ Flutura’s Something Special. Varied class which saw this 2 yr old red sable/white triumph. Out of a larger mould but he appealed for overall type and was so good to over, given his excellent construction. He presented a balanced outline with neck of moderate length, nice firm topline with well sprung ribs and ribbed well back, strong loin and high set tail of correct carriage. Pleasing head proportions, well defined stop, dark expressive eyes of correct set, large, well-fringed ears and correct scissor bite. Good angles front and rear, straight forelegs, elbows close to the chest and standing on good feet. Moving out well and and using himself to the max. Good coat and excellent temperament.
2. Wilkinson’s Lafford Inspector Morse In Poppywood JW. 2 yr old tricolour of completely different type to the winner but another who greatly appealed. He presented a beautifully balanced outline with neck of medium length, level topline, pleasing rib, strong loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Correct skull to muzzle proportions, slightly rounded skull, well defined stop, eyes good for colour, well-fringed ears set on correctly, fine muzzle and correct dentition. Another who is nicely constructed with fine-boned, straight forelegs, excellent feet and correct turn of stifle. Moving true on the down and back and covering the ground well. Good coat.
3. Bull’s Altaya Star Attraction

1. Caton’s Ch Coffe Ice Cream Forussi at Henrix (Imp). 6 yr old red sable/white. This boy is right out of the top drawer and, for me he is a true Papillon. All male, yet retaining the elegance of the breed, perfectly balanced, correct for size and so very well constructed. Correct skull to muzzle proportions, skull slightly rounded between his large, well-set, heavily fringed ears, well defined stop, dark medium-sized eyes of correct set, fine muzzle and correct scissor bite. He scores in outline with moderate length of neck which is proudly arched, firm level topline, well sprung ribs which extend well back, strong loin and plumed tail set on high and arched over the back. Well laid shoulders, straight forelegs, elbows close the chest, correct hare feet and firm hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Moving freely and with style, covering the ground and holding his topline as he goes. Quality coat and presentation. I was very happy to award him the CC & BOB today.
2. Lee-Slater’s Rozamie Monsieur Philippe. 20 mth tricolour who also caught my eye for his correct type and balance. Medium length of neck, level topline, ribbed well back, strong loin, tail good for set and carriage and balanced by correct length of leg. Attractive head with correct proportions, good stop, eyes correct for size, colour and set, large ears set on well with fringes developing nicely, finely pointed muzzle and correct scissor bite. Well made all through, he stands straight in front on correct hare feet and is nice and firm behind with good turn of stifle. Eye-catching on the move, true coming and going and with such good ground coverage. Excellent coat and very well handled. He is still some way from maturity but could not be denied this placing and later the RCC.
3. Robb’s Ch Gleniren Shootin Starmaker Sunshoo

VD (7,1)
1. Stanbury’s Inixia Delightful Dan JW ShCM. 8 yr old red sable/white. Quality boy with first class construction and so well balanced. Most attractive headpiece with slightly rounded skull between his large, well-fringed ears, good skull to muzzle proportions, correct stop, super eye and ear and finely pointed muzzle, all playing their part to create the most delightful expression. Excellent neck, firm topline, well sprung ribs which extend well back, firm loin and correct tail for set and carriage. Soundly made all through and moving out with a real sense of purpose. Good quality coat.
2. Morrell’s Temelora Bobby Dazzler JW. 7 yr old black/white who pushed the winner hard. Another who appealed for overall type and scored for balance. Pleasing head and expression with good skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, dark medium-sized eyes of correct set, large well-fringed ears and fine muzzle. Moderate length of neck, level topline, pleasing rib, strong loin and high set tail which he carried correctly. Standing well in front with nice width to chest, correct feet and firm hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Moving soundly but a tad erractic at times.
3. Maskell’s Kazkell Thyme To Dream JW ShCM

SBD/B (3,0)
1. Olof’s Tarnock Rock N Roll Rene
2. Hart’s Rozamie Monsieur Henri. 7 mth red sable/white. Pup with lots to like and very much a baby but enjoying his day out. Attractive headpiece with slightly rounded skull, correct proportions, dark expressive eyes and super ears for size and set. Neck of medium length, good topline, rib developing well for age, firm loin and correct tail for set and carriage. Moving out well in profile, making the most of himself at all times, but could be firmer going away. Excellent temperament.
3. Waller’s Lilnrose I’m A Lovebug JW

MPB (6,0)
1. Stanbury’s Inixia Luscious Lucy. Nice class headed by this 7 mth red sable/white. Most attractive youngster, feminine throughout and presenting a lovely balanced outline with correct length of neck, firm topline and high set tail which she carries well. Delightful headpiece with correct skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, dark expressive eyes, super ears and correct dentition. Confident on the move with eye catching profile action and nice and free when coming towards. Just a tad wider going away. Good coat texture.
2. Orchard’s Ablazzor Angel Of The North at Panspayon. 7 mth tricolour of completely different type to the winner but another who appealed and was so good to go over. Good for size and well balanced with moderate length of neck, level topline, ribbed well back and rib developing well for age, firm loin and good tail for both set and carriage. Attractive head of good proportions, slightly rounded skull between her large, well set ears, nice dark eyes of correct set, fine muzzle and correct dentition. Pleasing construction all through and moving nice free on the down and back and using herself as she goes. Delightful temperament.
3. Nash’s Ookiimimi Mischief Maker

PB (3,1)
1. Urquhart’s Blackpark Vogue. Two very different puppies here with the winner being this 11 mth red sable/white. She pleased for overall type and when settled presented a balanced outline, although the longer of the two here, with moderate length of neck, firm level topline and high set tail which is carried over the back. I would like to see a little more length to her ribcage. Feminine head and expression with correct skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, large well-fringed ears set on correctly, dark medium-sized eyes, finely pointed muzzle and correct mouth. Standing a little untidy in front but moves out well in profile.
2. Geary’s Taliesyn Black Azalea. This 10 mth tricolour presented an entirely different outline to the winner, being more compact in outline. She is soundly constructed both front and rear, standing well in front on correct hare feet and with elbows held close to the body. Feminine headpiece with pleasing proportions, correct stop, fine muzzle, excellent eye and ear and correct scissor bite. Moderate length of neck, firm topline but tail carried tighter than the ideal. Moving freely.

JB (3,0)
1. Cox’s Denemore Juniper Berrie at Tricianbri. 15 mth red sable/white who was a comfortable winner here for me. Feminine girl who presented a nicely balanced outline and was quite eye-catching on the go around. Attractive head with correct skull to muzzle proportions, slightly rounded skull between her very well set ears, dark expressive eye, finely pointed muzzle and correct mouth. Arched neck of moderate length, level topline, ribs extend well back, firm loin and tail set on high and of good carriage. She could be straighter in front but is nice and firm behind and covers the ground well when viewed in profile.
2. Geary’s Taliesyn White Camellia. 10 mth tricolour of completely different type to the winner and she gave quite a lot away in age. Feminine head which still needs to break but the skull to muzzle length ratios are correct, dark medium-sized eyes, large ears set on correctly, fine muzzle and correct scissor bite. Nicely balanced in outline with excellent neck, firm topline, rib developing well for age, strong loin and tail set on nice and high. Well made all through and moving true fore and aft and using herself as she goes. Delightful temperament.
3. Olof’s Tarnock Runaway Ruby

NB (6,0)
1. Urquhart’s Blackpark Patricia. Rather varied class headed by this 11 mth red sable/white. She didn’t make life easy on the table but has lots to like. She pleased for overall type and is well constructed throughout. A smidge longer cast but in no way could you consider her unbalanced; neck of moderate length, firm topline, rib developing well for age and extending well back, strong loin and plumed tail so good for set and carriage. Feminine headpiece with slightly rounded skull, correct proportions, well defined stop, good eye and ear, finely pointed muzzle and correct dentition. She really moves out on the go around with such confident self carriage. Quality coat and presentation. Best Puppy Bitch.
2. Stanbury’s Inixia Glamour Girl. 7 mth black/white who really did appeal. She presents a beautifully balanced outline with medium length of neck, level topline, nice length to ribcage and firm loin. Tail set on high but carried rather tightly. Most attractive head and expression with the very best of eyes and ears, correct skull to muzzle proportions, good stop, fine muzzle and correct dentition. Super construction, standing nice and straight in front on correct hare feet and well made hindquarters with nice turn of stifle. Moving freely and with purpose.
3. Cox’s Denemore Juniper Berrie at Tricianbri

PGB (4,0)
1. Gregory’s Stagedoor Stripper. This 18 mth tricolour was an easy winner in this class for me. Dainty, feminine girl who pleased for type and balance and is well constructed all through. She has the most attractive headpiece with slightly rounded skull, finely pointed muzzle of correct length to balance, well defined stop, excellent eye and ear and correct scissor bite. Nicely arched neck of medium length, level topline, pleasing rib, strong loin and high set tail of correct carriage and nicely plumed. Shoulders well laid, elbows close to the body, nice straight forelegs, nice width to chest, correct hare feet and good turn of stifle. Moving parallel fore and aft and covering the ground in profile with excellent self carriage.
2. Nash’s Afterglow Gooseberry with Ookiimimi. 2 yr old black/white. Nicely balanced girl with moderate length of neck, firm topline, pleasing rib, strong loin and correct tail for both set and carriage. Feminine head and expression with correct skull to muzzle proportions, dark eyes of medium size, large ears set on correctly, defined stop and fine muzzle. Another who is well constructed and she moved well in profile but is a tad wider in front.
3. Geary’s Taliesyn Love In the Mist

LB (4,0)
1. Langdon’s Shadowknight Ebony Rose of Skyvana JW. Quality class which was headed by this 18 mth black/white. She still has some maturing to do but I thought her something really special. Feminine all through, she presented a beautifully balanced outline with arched neck of moderate length, firm level topline, ribbed well back, strong loin, plumed tail set on high and carried correctly and nice length of leg to balance. Most attractive head with slightly rounded skull between her large, well-fringed ears of correct set, good skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, medium-sized eyes set rather low in the skull, finely pointed muzzle and correct scissor bite. Well made all through with well laid shoulders, elbows held close to the body, straight fine-boned forelegs, correct hare feet and good turn of stifle. She certainly didn’t disappoint on the move and was true on the down and back and a delight to watch on the go around, covering the ground and making the most of herself at all times. Quality coat and presentation and first class handling. In the challenge she pulled out all the stops and won a very well deserved CC.
2. Orchard’s Ringland Yoko’s Solo at Panspayon ShCM. 3 yr old red sable/white who has done well under me in the past. She is quite different to the winner but another quality girl and a pleasure to judge. Another so well balanced with neck of correct length, firm topline, excellent ribbing, strong loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Delightful head and expression with correct proportions, skull slightly rounded between her well-fringed ears, dark expressive eyes of correct set, defined stop, fine muzzle and correct dentition. Moving so well in profile with confident self carriage, nice and firm behind, just a tad wider in front but nothing untowards. Quality coat and presentation and so very well handled.
3. Cox’s Tricianbri Tuppence A Kiss JW

OB (5,1)
1. Lee-Slater Ch Jorgealin Cast A Spell for Kingshaven. 2 yr old tricolour who greatly appealed and one I thought was so good for overall type and beautifully balanced. Dainty and feminine throughout, she has the most delightful head and expression with correct skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, medium-sized ears of correct set, large well-fringed ears which she uses to advantage, finely pointed muzzle and correct scissor bite. Nicely arched neck of moderate length, firm topline, strong loin, tail set on high which she carries correctly and nice length of leg to balance. She stands nice and straight in front on correct hare feet, elbows close to the chest and well made hindquarters with nice turn of stifle. Moving freely with excellent self carriage and certainly cannot be overlooked on the go around. Quality coat and first class handling. RCC.
2. Gregory’s Ch Skyvana Reddy To Go to Tonkory JW. Red sable/white just approaching 4 yrs. Another quality bitch but so very different to the winner, being slightly heavier all through. She presented a well balanced outline with correct neck, firm topline, excellent ribbing, strong loin and high set tail which is carried arched over the back. Attractive head with slightly rounded skull, well defined stop, dark expressive eyes of correct set, large well set ears with excellent fringing and pleasing dentition. Super front assembly with well laid shoulders, elbows held close to the chest, straight forelegs and correct feet. Moving soundly all through, covering the ground well and particularly good rear action. Good coat and another so well handled.
3. Borg’s Ch Petress Dark And Daring

VB (4,0)
1. Buss’ Ch Twiggy Cupcake of Flutura JW. Sable/white just shy of 8 yrs. This girl was a comfortable winner in this class for me and she was so good to go over. Well balanced in outline with arched neck of medium length, firm topline, excellent ribbing, strong loin, tail set high and correctly carried and nice length of leg. Most attractive head and expression with good skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, eyes set low down in the skull, large well-fringed ears of correct set and perfect scissor bite which should certainly be commended given her age. Well constructed front and rear, moving true on the down and back and with nice ground coverage when viewed in profile. Very well handled. Best Veteran.
2. Wells & Brown’s Ch Metamorphic Delivered. 7 yr old black/white who is completely different to the winner in type and out of a smaller mould. She also pleased and has a feminine headpiece with good skull to muzzle proportions, slightly rounded skull between her large, well-set ears, dark expressive eyes, defined stop and finely pointed muzzle. Balanced outline with moderate length of neck, correct topline, good spring of rib, firm loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Nice width of chest, straight forelegs and standing on correct hare feet. Moving freely all through. Good coat texture and presentation.
3. Walklett’s Hillsorg Katz Trade Secret of Farthinghall
