MPD (4,0)

1. Olof’s Tarnock Sweep The Board. Just coming up to 7 mths old, this red/white shows much promise. He presented a nicely balanced outline with moderate length of neck, straight back, rib developing well for this stage of his development, firm loin and tail set on high and arched over the back. Attractive head with slightly rounded skull between large ears of correct set and good fringing, well defined stop, eyes a little larger then preferred but of good colour, correct dentition. Pleasing angles front and rear and moves out so well in profile with confident carriage, parallel when going away and pretty good when coming towards. Good quality coat and very well handled. Super temperament.

2. Stewart-Smith, Cooper & Church’s Forepaws Dutch Courage RAF. Eyecatching 8 mth old tricolour who was good to go over. Neck of medium length, level topline, lovely rib for age, firm loin and tail set on high but not carriage of winner. Masculine headpiece with good skull, lovely eye and ear, well defined stop, finely pointed muzzle of correct length to balance and correct dentition. Nicely angulated both ends and standing on correct feet. Flashy mover, driving well from the rear. Another handled to advantage.

3. Marsden’s Finity Truly Unique

PD (5,0)

1. Hector’s Odyssey Elite Pillango at Taisett (Imp) NAF. Showy 10 mth old red sable/white who was so good to go over. He pleased in outline with moderate length of neck, nice straight topline, lovely rib, firm loin and plumed tail set on high and of good carriage. Attractive head and expression with slightly rounded skull, ears of correct set, dark eyes placed rather low, good proportions and scissor bite. Soundly constructed, standing straight on hare feet and firm rear with good bend of stifle. Uses himself fully on the move and covers the ground as he goes. Best Puppy Dog.

2. Holmes’ Summerjade Red Hot Vanilla. 10 mth old red sable/white who wasn’t at all relaxed and therefore not showing himself off to advantage. He has so much to like, pleasing for overall type and balance with arched neck of moderate length, level topline, well ribbed back, firm muscular loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Well proportioned head with delightful expression; large ears of correct set, nice dark eyes, well defined stop and correct mouth. Moving true and doing just enough to secure this placement. Good coat.

3. Olof’s Tarnock Tap Dance Teddy

JD (7,0)

1. Montgomery’s Elmaraine Remy Martin at Carrollryan. A rather diverse class in which I found this 13 mth old tricolour my winner. Petite youngster who is a real character and uses himself to full advantage. He pleased in outline with arched neck of good length to balance, level topline, good rib, firm loin and tail set on high and carried pretty well. Quality head and expression; slightly rounded skull between his well set, large ears, dark expressive eyes, stop well defined and good proportions. Soundly constructed and standing straight on correct feet. Moving freely and driving well from the rear. Excellent coat.

2. Challenger’s Skyvana Devil in Disguise with Lyveden. This 13 mth old tricolour was close up to the winner here and another out of a smaller mould. He was so good to go over and pleased for overall type and balance. Medium length of neck, correct topline, rib developing well for age, firm loin and tail set on high but carried a little closer to back. Attractive headpiece with slightly rounded skull, great ears with lovely fringing, dark expressive eyes, correct stop and finely pointed muzzle. Good angles front and rear, standing well in front on correct feet and good musculature throughout. Sound action with desired lightness of carriage. Good coat.

3.Austin & Thompson’s Skyvana Catch Me at Jhanakia

YD (2,0)

1. Turner’s Feyetas Mighty Atom. Two very different boys competed here. The winner was this 19 mth old red sable/white who won with some room to spare. He presented a pretty good outline with moderate length of neck, straight back, pleasing rib, firm loin and tail set on well but carried a little closer to the back than preferred. Masculine head with slightly rounded skull, ears of good size and set, nice dark eyes, well defined stop and muzzle which is just long enough. Nicely constructed, standing straight in front on correct feet and firm rear with good turn of stifle. Moves out so well on the go around, parallel when going away and ok when coming towards. Nice coat quality.

2. Maskell & Waller’s Kazkell Cracker Joke. 15 mth old black/white who was somewhat erratic but did calm a tad by the end of the class. Still rather raw and needing more time. Neck of medium length, topline not that of winner, rib extending well back and tail of good set and carriage. Head and expression could not compete with 1 and I felt that he was a little coarse; large ears of good set, dark eyes and good dentition. He has pleasing angulation and stands straight on correct hare feet. Movement a little difficult to assess but he covers the ground.

GD (7,0)

1. Borg’s Elendil Crusader. Another rather varied class. This 2 yr old black/white won here and he pleased for overall type and balance. He presented a nice outline with arched neck of moderate length, level topline, good ribbing, firm loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Nicely proportioned head with slightly rounded skull between his large well-set ears, excellent eye and well defined stop. Pleasing construction; sloping shoulders, elbows close to the chest, good feet and firm rear with nice bend of stifle. Not entirely settled but moved out freely with good carriage.

2. Anderson’s Pappretty Grt Expectations. 2 yr old red sable/white who was close up to the winner. Attractive head and expression with good skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, excellent ears for size and set and eyes of good colour and placement but a tad larger. Arched neck of medium length, pleasing length to ribcage and topline ok although could be firmer in croup. Nice layback of shoulder, standing nice and straight in front on correct hare feet and firm hindquarters with good bend of stifle. Free, light action and making the most of himself as he goes.

3. Holmes’ Elfuago Booyah

PGD (5,0)

1. Stanbury’s Inixia Made by Design. Dainty 2 yr old black/white who was a standout in this class for me. He presented such a good outline with nicely arched neck of medium length, firm topline, excellent ribbing, good loin and plumed tail correct for both set and carriage. Quality head with slightly rounded skull between his well-fringed, large ears which are correctly set, dark expressive eyes, well defined stop and finely pointed muzzle. Well constructed both front and rear and standing on the best of feet. Busy boy who makes the most of himself at all times and moves out freely with confident carriage.

2. Walsh’s Purepixie Red Admiral. 2 yr old red sable/white. This boy pleased for size and presented a pleasing outline but was not quite that of winner; neck of sufficient length, excellent topline, good length to ribcage, firm loin and plumed tail set on high and of good carriage. Nicely proportioned head with masculine expression; well-fringed ears of good size and set, eyes of good colour, correct stop and good dentition. Standing on correct hare feet. He moves soundly but could not match the action or carriage of 1. Good coat.

3. Slater & Da-Silva’s Magic Sunrise Brigand with Burghbridge (Imp Lva)

LD (10,1)

1. Davidson’s Elmaraine Chasing Rainbows. This 2 yr old tricolour headed a large class and is one who needs to be gone over to really appreciate his many virtues. He pleased for type and presented a good outline with arched neck of medium length, firm level topline, lovely ribbing, good loin and plumed tail set on high and of correct carriage. Quality headpiece with delightful expression; slight rounding to skull, large well-fringed ears of correct set, dark eyes placed low down in the skull with bright sparkling look, well defined stop, finely pointed muzzle of correct length to balance and good dentition. Sloping shoulders, elbows close to the chest, good feet but turn out a tad and firm hindquarters with good bend of stifle and firm hocks. Moving true on the down and back and strides out well on the go around with good carriage. Quality coat and presentation. RCC.

2. Davidson-Poston’s Sky Butterfly Elven Cron Prince Spinillons (Imp Rus). This 13 mth old tricolour is another of quality but quite different to the winner and with more scope. Proudly arched neck, level topline, ribcage extending well back, firm loin and tail of good set and decent carriage. Lovely head and expression; good skull to muzzle proportions, slightly rounded skull, well defined stop, best of eyes and ears and correct dentition. Good angles front and rear and standing nice and straight in front on correct feet. Moving well all through with confident carriage. Excellent temperament. Good quality coat.

3. Griffiths’ Manawyddan Harryhare

OD (7,0)

1. Foynes’ Martika Kiss and Tell for Lafay. This 3 yr old red sable/white won here on overall type and construction. Masculine throughout, yet with no suggestion of coarseness. He presented a well balanced outline with moderate length of neck which is nicely arched, level back, super rib, firm loin and plumed tail set on high and of good carriage. Well proportioned head with pleasing expression; slightly rounded skull, ears of good size and set, dark round eyes placed low in skull, correct stop and scissor bite. Sloping shoulders with good return of upper arm, elbows close to the chest, straight forelegs, good feet and firm rear with pleasing turn of stifle. Moving out freely with good carriage.

2. Bull’s Altaya Star Attraction. 6 yr old tricolour who was lovely to go over. He pleased for type with attractive head and expression; fair breadth to his slightly rounded skull, well-fringed ears of good size and set, dark round eyes of correct placement, well defined stop, finely pointed muzzle and correct dentition. Neck of good length to balance, firm topline, excellent ribbing, good loin and plumed tail set on high although carried a little closer to the back than preferred. Pleasing angles both ends; elbows held close to the chest and standing on good feet. Quality coat and presentation. Very well handled.

3. Robb’s Ch Gleniren Who’s Your Daddy

VD (8,0)

1. Davidson-Poston’s Ch/Ir/NL/Int Ch Spinillons Rebel Rowser JW ShCM Cw14 VW ShCEx. This 11 yr old black/white was an absolute standout here and quite unbelievable that he is the age he is; he could easily pass for a dog half his age and was presented in pristine condition, carrying excellent body and first-class muscle-tone. He presents a beautifully balanced outline with proudly arched neck of medium length, level topline, excellent ribbing, firm loin and plumed tail set on high and arched over the back. Quality head with super expression; slight rounding to skull, large well-fringed ears set on just right, dark round eyes placed low in skull, well defined stop, finely pointed muzzle which is approximately one third length of the head and absolutely outstanding dentition. Faultless construction with sloping shoulders and good return of upper arm, elbows held close to the body, standing straight in front on correct hare feet and firm hindquarters which are parallel when viewed from behind. Moving true on the down and back and strides out well on the go around with good carriage. Quality coat and excellent presentation. CC and Best Veteran.

2. Letch & Buckley-Waters’ Conysluck Mr Pickles. 10 yr old black/white who presented a nicely balanced outline with moderate length of neck, firm straight topline, nice spring of rib which extends well back, muscular loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Head of good proportions with slight rounding to skull between his large, well set ears, dark expressive eyes and well defined stop. Pleasing construction both front and rear, standing on good feet and moves out freely with good carriage. Coat presentation not quite what it could be.

3. Foynes’ Lafay Petite Etoile JW

SBD (3,0)

1. Holmes’ Elfuago Booyah. 6 yr old red/white who was a comfortable winner here for me. He pleased for outline and construction. Neck of good length to balance, level topline, firm loin and tail set on high and of good carriage. Head of good proportions with slightly rounded skull, well-fringed ears of good size and set, well defined stop, dark eyes good dentition. He stands well naturally and also moved out with lightness of carriage. Good coat and presentation. Best Special Beginners.

2. Humphrey’s Caraideas The Extra Mile to Gloynbyw ShCM. 7 yr old tricolour who is quite different to the winner. He too presented a balanced outline with neck of medium length, firm topline, well sprung ribs which are carried well back, good loin and tail set and carried well. Nicely proportioned head with correct set of ear, well defined stop and finely pointed muzzle. Correct angles front and rear, standing nice and straight in front on good feet and nice firm hocks. Moving soundly with good length of stride. Coat presentation not that of winner.

3. Kent’s Moshu Golden Lovelock

MPB (2,0)

1. Walklett’s Angullyon Enigma’s Secret NAF. 6 mth old red sable/white who won here with some room to spare. She presented a lovely balanced outline with excellent neck, level topline, pleasing rib for age, firm loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Feminine headpiece of good proportions, large ears of correct set, dark round eyes of good placement and finely pointed muzzle. Soundly constructed and stands nice and straight in front on correct hare feet. Moves true on the down and back and gaits well on the go around too with good ground coverage and pleasing carriage. Well handled.

2. Keown’s Keomandi Frost Moon Fairy NAF. 6 mth red/white. Dainty and well balanced with medium length of neck, firm straight back, good length to ribcage and plumed tail set on high. Nicely proportioned head but rather wide blaze spoils expression somewhat. Slightly rounded skull, well defined stop, ears of decent size and set on ok, nice dark eye and good dentition. Pleasing angulation front and rear, elbows held close to the chest and standing straight in front. Moving well when viewed in profile but winner had the edge coming and going.

PB (4,1)

1. Robb’s Gleniren Daddy’s Starmaker. 10 mth red sable/white. Quality pup who was quite delightful. Feminine throughout she scores for type, is beautifully balanced, so good to go over and shows her socks off at all times. Proudly arched neck of moderate length, level topline, rib developing well for age and carried well back, firm loin and plumed tail set on high and arched over the back. Most attractive head with darling expression; slight rounding to skull between her well-fringed ears of good size and correct set, dark round eyes which are placed low down in the skull, well defined stop and finely pointed muzzle of correct length to balance head. Sloping shoulders with good return of upper arm, straight forelegs with strong, fine bone, correct hare feet and firm, well-muscled hindquarters with good turn of stifle and hocks turning neither in nor out. Moves out freely with lightness of carriage, covering the ground and using herself at all times. Quality coat and presentation. My choice for CC, BOB and Best Puppy. Pleased to see that she was later shortlisted in the Group and took Puppy Group 2.

2. Mowatt’s Moshu Golden Sunrise over Iotastar. 10 mth red sable/white who is another with much to like and nicely balanced with super neck, straight topline, nice spring of rib, firm loin and plumed tail set on high and of good carriage. Feminine head with good skull to muzzle proportions, large ears of good set, nice dark eye and correct dentition but expression not quite that of winner. Pleasing construction all through, standing well naturally on correct hare feet. Moving parallel on the down and back and strides out on the go around but winner had that something extra on the move.

3. Nash’s Ookiimimi Quicksilver

JB (7,0)

1. Griffiths’ Manawyddan to A Wild Rose. A somewhat varied class which saw this 12½ mth old red sable/white come out on top. She was very nice to go over and scored in outline with arched neck of medium length, firm topline, pleasing rib and tail of good set and carriage. Attractive head with slight rounding to skull, large well-fringed ears of good set, dark eyes but a tad larger than preferred, well defined stop and finely pointed muzzle. Well built all through, standing well naturally on excellent feet and with elegant bearing. Gaiting freely with good length of stride.

2. Kirk’s Lynflyer Rainbow Dancer at Kirkchase. 17 mth old tricolour of completely different type to the winner but another with lots to like. Feminine throughout and a scopier girl who pleased for outline with neck of good length which is nicely arched, level back, good length to ribcage, firm loin and plumed tail set on high and arched over the back. Quality head with super expression; good skull to muzzle proportions, excellent ears for size and set, best of eyes, correct stop and finely pointed muzzle. Front assembly not that of winner, standing or on the move, but she moves out so well on the go around.

3. Anderson’s Pappretty Georgy Girl

YB (5,1)

1. Lee-Slater & Kewley’s Magic Sunrise Natalia (Imp Lva). 21 mth old red sable/white who immediately caught my eye in this class. She was so good to go over, pleased for type and presented a well balanced outline. Neck of moderate length, correct topline, nice spring of rib, muscular loin and high set tail of pretty good carriage. Lovely head and expression with slightly rounded skull, well defined stop, large ears which are well-fringed and set on just right, dark round eyes which are placed low in the skull and finely pointed muzzle. Sloping shoulders and good return of upper arm, elbows close to the chest, standing nice and straight in front on correct feet and firm rear with good bend of stifle. Sound, stylish mover and handled to advantage.

2. Diprose’s Lilacrose Touch of Talent. Soundly constructed 19 mth old tricolour girl who was pleasing to go over. She is nicely balanced with arched neck of good length, firm topline, well ribbed back, strong loin and plumed tail set on high but carried a little close to back than the ideal. Most attractive head with feminine expression; correct skull, excellent eye and ear, well defined stop, finely pointed muzzle of correct length to balance head and good dentition. 3. Last’s Lilacrose Magic Mya

GB (3,1)

Proudly arched neck of good length, nice straight topline, pretty good ribbing, firm loin and plumed tail which is set on high and arched over the back. Pleasing head and expression with slight rounding to skull, super ears for size and set, nice dark eye, defined stop and muzzle of correct length.
