04 March 2016 – Dog World
As you read these weeks breed notes on the run up to Crufts, I expect you are busy checking off your list of ‘to do’s’ preparing, making sure everything is ready for the following Thursday for Toy Day. Goodness knows where the year gone, the speed of the hamster wheel is going at such a fast pace it will orbit into space at this rate.
For those that are exhibiting please keep it in mind that it is a weekday and allow for traffic build up, I am sure there will be long queues on roads leading to the car parks. Best to get there being calm and collected rather than arrive looking like a quivering wreck, not a good way to start the day. Remember also judging commences at 8.30 am, so alarm clocks at the ready and a good morning, good morning eyes bright and how are you positive mode, please. Well at least try!
A couple of Open Shows to report on that Papillon exhibitors have had successful days. At Matlock & DSC Liz and Alan Bartram had a thrilling day with Conysluck The Red Baron JW taking BOB under Mrs Linda Cheshire Hey and then furthered his super day taking TGP1 Mrs Pauline Johns. You must have both been thrilled, very well done.
At Southampton & DSC Sammy French was well pleased with her day. Taking TPG4 with Panspayon Charlemagne at Soleona and TGP1 with Nightfire’s All I Want at Soleona. The judge was Mr Peter Boot.
Enjoy the good weather we are having, at least it is good for taking the dogs out to have fun and train. Fingers crossed Crufts enjoys the same dry weather, it is a long walk to the halls if wet under foot. Don’t forget to pack the extra pair of shoes, otherwise your feet will be shouting.
I wish exhibitors from the UK and abroad, judges, stewards and spectators a fantastic time at Cufts 2016.
