Darlington Championship Show held at Ripon Racecourse in North Yorkshire was next on the calendar. Always such a well run show with an array of trade stands to choose from. For this show the Papillon judge was well respected Tom Mather. The day went smoothly along with the assistance of the judges two excellent stewards. The principal winners were as follows: BCC/ BOB / TGP 2 Kirsty Ryan, Kathleen Roosen and Jens Goessens’s Ch Uppercut Daydream Believers With Feorlig (Imp Bel) The Toy group judge was Andrew Stewart. Best Puppy Mary Whitehill’s Amicae Top Of The Class, Best Veteran Karen and Steve Maskell’s Kazkell Robin The Limelight JW Sh.Cm. DCC Kirsty and Evan Ryan, and Kathleen Roosen’s Ch U Knock Me Off My Feet Daydream Believers With Feorlig, RDCC Mary Whitehill’s Amicae Mr Chips and RBCC Irene and Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Daddy’s Starmaker. Congratulations to all the winners.

Next exhibitors journeyed up to Scotland for the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show. The last show to be held in Oct as this show next year will be in May combined with the May show. So, two championship shows held in one day, it is going to be a busy day for everyone for sure. Sue Morrell (Temelora) a very well respected breed specialist was taking the helm for the Papillons. The judge went over the dogs in a calm and sympathetic manner always making sure everyone got the best out of their dogs. It was long wait for judging to commence as we were fourth in the ring, so a mad dash to the groups for everyone. The principal winners were as follows. BCC/BOB/TGP3 Irene and Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Daddy’s Starmaker. The Toy group judge was Toy specialist Mrs Mea Kendall who was judging the Toy Group for the first time. Her sunny outlook in the ring engulfed everyone who watched and she went over the dogs beautifully. Best Puppy Mary Whitehill’s Amicae Bright Spark, Best Veteran Helen Walsh’s Ch Jorgealin Moon Star At Purepixie and Special Beginners Gill Breen’s Kylecroft Quest. DCC (Ryan, Mrs K F & Ryan, Mr E L & Roosens, Miss K) Ch U Knock Me Off My Feet Daydream Believers With Feorlig (Imp B) RDCC Elaine Davidson’s Ch & Am Ch Elmaraine Chasing Rainbows and RBCC Ms Amanda Hale’s Phalene Dance By Candlelight With Picolina.
