20 October 2023 Papillon Breed Notes
City of Birmingham held at Stoneleigh Park, Nr Coventry is the next show on the calendar. Always such a well thought out show with the committee accommodating everyone’s wishes. For this show well respected toy specialist Mr Stephen Bardwell (Stewell) was to be our Papillon judge. With the help of his stewards everything ran smoothly along and Mr Bardwell conducted himself in an impeccable manner. Always insuring not only the dogs were comfortable but the exhibitors were too at all times.
The principal winners for the day were as follows: BCC/ BOB Irene and Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Daddy’s Starmaker who was also shortlisted in a quality TGP under Albert Wight. Best Puppy and Toy Puppy Group 2 Irene and Glenn Robb’s Gleniren Oops I Did It Again Sunshoo. The Toy Puppy Group judge was Mr B Day.
Best Veteran Jo Davidson Poston’s Ch Ir Ch Nl Ch & Int Ch Spinillons Rebel Rowser JW, Best Junior Mandy Keown’s Keomandi Fly Me To The Moon, Best Special Beginners Miss Kara Mason’s Finity Run The Gauntlet. DCC Kirsty and Evan Ryan and Kathleen Roosen’s Ch U Knock Me Off My Feet Daydream Believers With Feorlig (Imp Bel), RDCC Jo Davidson Poston’s Dual Ch Sky Butterfly Elven Cron Prince Spinillons and RBCC Kirsty and Evan Ryan, Kathleen Roosen and Jens Goessen’s Ch Uppercut Daydream Believers With Feorlig (Imp Bel). Congratulations to everyone.
Next was a southern journey down to Richmond Championship Show, the weather was good and there was plenty to browse on the trade stands. A vast assortment of doggie items to choose from no matter want you needed to stock up on.
Mr Lee Cox (Vanitonia) who is a well respected judge on the show scene judging many breed in the various groups was to be our Papillon judge for this show. Everything went smoothly along, Mr Cox went over the dogs calmly and concise and making sure each exhibitor had the best opportunity to put their dog’s floor work to their best advantage.
The principal winners for the day were: A delighted Irene and Glenn Robb with Ch Gleniren Daddy’s Starmaker taking BCC/BOB and a fabulous Toy Group 2 under Steward Bardwell in a really top flight array of Toy Group BOB winners. Best Puppy Irene and Glenn Robb’s Gleniren Oops I Did It Again Sunshoo.

What a thrilling day for the Papillons having spectacular results in all the Toy groups, the Papillon flag certainly flew high at Richmond. Many congratulations Glenn, Jo and Kara on the amazing results.

At Coventry Open Show breed specialist Katriona Milroy (Farthinghall) was judging the breed she found her winners to be. BOB Chris Anderson’s Pappretty Grt Expectations, RBOB Carol Lees Lafford Black Onyx and Best Puppy Mandy Keown’s Keomandi Fly Me To The Moon.
Blackpool & Fylde Toy Dog Society. The judge was breed specialist Carl Cooper ( Wilachans) he found his main winners to be Julie Kerrison’s Kezkez Signore Nico Rosberg and BPIB Pinder’s Afterglow Barbette With Starmarla.
Well done to everyone attending the shows.
