22 July 2016 – Dog World

Northern & Eastern Counties Papillon Club this weekend on Sun, 24th July will be celebrating their 25th Championship Show anniversary. How better way to celebrate than hold the show where it all started at the Brodsworth Miners Welfare in Doncaster. Final Preparations are well underway and the committee are looking forward to welcoming everyone.
The committee have excelled themselves with many extra surprises on offer to the exhibitors. They have goodie bags for every exhibitor, free entry into a lucky butterfly draw, with a fabulous prize, available to everyone attending the show. There will be a commemorative catalogue/ yearbook for everyone to remember the occasion, as well as special glassware for the principle winners.

The club have received a super entry of 128 dogs making 153 entries; both judges are breed specialists for the dogs Amanda Bruce-Jackson (Tijuana) and for the bitches Lynda Phillips (Motylek)

The judge for the special awards and puppy walk will be breed specialist Michele Buss (Flutura) who has a lovely entry of 27, thanks must go to all exhibitors entered for supporting our up and coming judge. There will be special gifts for all SAC winners. All 9 of the lucky puppy walk puppies, will receive goodie bags, worth over £15, generously donated by Handmade by Fifi.

The will be a chance to win a beautiful glass, that can be engraved with the photo of your choice or four affix etched or breed specific glasses, donated by Hembadoon Fine Art, in aid of fund raising for Junior Handlers. There will of course be all the usual activities at the show.
Ian Raper of Photocall will be in attendance giving you a chance for that magical picture of your little ones. Ian has also donated a canvas print of your own dog. Last but not least it is the clubs Calendar competition once more. You will be able to choose your pictures for next year’s calendar.
Christine McFarlane and family will be as usual providing her delicious catering menu for all those hungry tums, so refreshments will be a plenty. It sounds like it is going to a memorable show for all attending.

East of England Championship Show saw the weather as a rainy day, now there’s a surprise. Luckily Paps were in the main Atrium building so nice and snug. However I believe some of the outside the rings resembled duck ponds. The BIS ring was elegantly set with a raised platform and decorated tables and chairs. There was a separate stakes ring with rings either side.
Many trade stands of choice to browse, both in the entrance of the main hall and outside. There was also a good selection of refreshments for individual choices.
Here this year from Scotland, breed specialist Elizabeth Anderson (Northlyte) was judging and arrived looking smart and ready for the day ahead. Her choices for the day were as follows. It was a double delight for the Magri/Arrowsmith/Forth partnership. DCC/BOB Petitchiens Truth or Dare Rozamie, BCC Alexandra Forth’s CH Omegaville Make Me A Petitchien. RDCC Jenny Scovell’s Afterglow Tom Fool at Caswell, RBCC Sue Victor’s Lafford Kandy Floss, BP Isherwood and Scovell’s Afterglow Sunny Spell and BV Jane Thompson & Sandra Austin’s Jhanakia Highland Destiny. Congratulations to everyone.

At Liskeard & DCA Premier Show an entry of thirteen Paps. Here Susie and Margaret Orchard had a successful day taking a TGP3 with Ger Ch Alex’ Eye Of The Tiger at Panspayon (Imp SWE) and also with their youngster TPGP3 with Semicvetik Dayana Divine Panspayon (Imp). The judge was Rob Mcleod (Dunline).

Until next week enjoy your time with your butterflies.
