29 July 2016 – Dog World

The Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club held their annual Papfest at Brails Village Hall, Nr Banbury. From what I hear the weather was kind and the sun beamed down for the tan effect by the end of the day. What better chance for old and new friends to meet up. Unfortunately haven’t been able to muster up a lot of snippets of the show but I do know that there was a heart warming and heart wrenching parade of rescues organised by Debbie Goodwin plus agility, breed show, rescue stall, fun dog show, training tips and wobble board training and a BBQ.

I believe the rescue stall that Sue Dugan had organised so meticulously under the banner of official rescue fundraiser was a great success. Huge round of applause to all those who contributed to the amazing total of £621 on the day for the tombola, raffle, stall purchases and rescue donations. Since the short time that Sue took on the post an unbelievable £1299 has been raised. Many congratulations Sue, your hard work has certainly paid off.

Kevin Arrowsmith (Rozamie)Arrowbien) judged the open show and awarded the following principal winners: BD / BIS Sue & Jon Caton’s Coffee Ice Cream Forussi at Henrix, RD / RBISAnne Borg’s Elendil Petit Prince. Anne also took BB with Petress Dark and Daring JW, RBB Susie & Margaret Orchard’s Ringlands Yoko’s Solo who also took BPH with their import Semicvetik Dayana Devine Panspayon. BP was a delighted Katherine Bull with Altaya Start Attraction, BV Liz & Alan Bartram’s Ch Burbridge Ur Solid Gold Skyvana JW ShCM.

Open Show results for Annadale DCA Sue Deamer had success with Bankshill Sweet Caroline who went on to take TGP3 under Mr D Morrison.

Callum and Mandy Thornton had a great day at Durham County Show taking a TGP1 with Cheeky Celia at Shevid and TPGP3 with Shevid Quantam Leap under Alan Leach (Queshian) for the breed and the groups Mrs Dorothy Bailey (Aldoricka).

At Totnes & DCA the breed and group judge was Mr M Beater (Starforth) and awarded Sue Stanbury’s Inixia Devonshire Maid TBOB / TPGP2. Well done everyone on some super results for the Paps.

A very excited Karen & Steve Maskell at Alfreton DCA where Kazkell Robin the Limelight JW qualified for the KC JW Competition semi finals to be held at the Excel in October. The judge on this occasion will be Diane Mottram.

Congratulations to all the above winners. Be careful in the sun if it is still hitting the flags by the time this is read, or else umbrellas at the ready.
