31 December 2021 Breed Notes

Happy New Year everyone, my wish for everyone is that your expectations and dreams come true for the year ahead. We have all learnt to endure and overcome challenges for the last couple of years, this has put us all in great stead to go forth with abundance for 2022.

The last show of 2021 was the Ladies Kennel Association (LKA) held at the NEC, Birmingham. It was an early start, with not only having to progress to the halls but before you got to that point there were Covid entrance regulations in place. The committee had worked incredible hard to make this show an exhibitors Christmas show. The main ring with the blue carpet looked stunning, in an annex three Christmas trees adorned with decorations made everything very special. During the day there were long queues for folk wanting to get a picture with their dogs for that Christmas picture.
How nice it was to see everyone and celebrate that we had actually had dog shows to attend, that has to be positive.

Papillons were located near to the main ring, refreshments and trade stands, which there were quite a few. The trade stands haven’t had it easy the last few years and we must in the coming year give our support as the show wouldn’t be the same without them.
The ring was spacious in size so all was ready for our judge for this show who was well known breed specialist Ted Whitehill (Baskell). As would be expected the judge gave all exhibitors and their charges the room and space to be able to get the best out of their moment in the spotlight. On the table going over the dogs the judge was calm, always ensuring the dogs were at ease.
Every thing went smoothly along with the help of the stewards.

For the end of the Papillon judging the awards given were as follows:
A very delighted Irene and Glenn Robb with their boy Ch Gleniren Who’s Your Daddy taking BOB and the DCC. The day got even better by Jenson taking Toy Group 1 in a very strong Toy Group under Mr Tony Allcock OBE (Sleepyhollow) and then to put the cherry on top of the cake RBIS under Miss Dianna Spavin (Dialynne). BIS was Marie Burn’s lovely West Highland White Terrier Burneze All in One.
What a tremendous way to end the year, for once we were both speechless. I must say a big thank you to everyone for their support and congratulations on the day.
BCC/ BOS Tom Isherwood’s Play Boy Bunny For The Stagedoor (imp it ) (Imp) I. I believe congratulations, this was the magical third cc to make up the Champion title.
BP Caroline Lee Slater and Kewley’s Graycaz Pap Reeka
RDCC Elaine Davidson’s Elmaraine Chasing Rainbows and the RBCC Tom Isherwood and Mrs Stone’s Tonkory Waiting In The Winds. BV Mrs Keown’s Ch Jorgealin Moon Magic.
Congratulations to everyone that achieved the awards they wanted on the day.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and Santa Pap was good to you all.
Enjoy the coming year and I look forward to seeing everyone at the shows for 2022
