31 January 2025 Papillon Breed Notes

The Papillon (Butterfly Dog ) Christmas Open Show was a special show for everyone with lots of festive joy in the air. The secretary Chris Headley had excelled and against all odds had managed to twist Santa’s arm to attend ahead of his busiest time of the year, even bringing his trusted sack full of goodies for everyone.

Ladies Kennel Association is always an exciting show with it being the last General Championship Show of the year. LKA now held at the Staffordshire Showground, which for most it is a much easier venue to travel to and also exhibitoes not to have the NEC parking charges. In this day and age every little bit helps as most people are realising. Stafford is increasingly becoming a very popular venue with a number of Championship shows showcasing their events to ultimate levels of professionalism.
The halls were set out well and each ring being of a spacious size.
For this show the Papillons were being judged by breed specialist Joe Magri (Rozamie) with his two capable stewards keeping everything moving along. Really pleased as Glenn and I were situated in the grooming area of the CKCS which had full view of how the day was progressing in the Papillon ring, so I could sneek a peek now and then. Judging commenced promptly and the day seemed to go smoothly for all rings.
