Critique

Many thanks to the Officers & Committee of Manchester Dog Show Society for inviting me to Judge our beloved Papillons & Phalenes at this their 2018 General Championship Show, and also to you the exhibitors for keeping your spirits up, along with those of the dogs for what seemed an endless time whilst waiting for the ring availability. But rest assured it was well worth the wait, and a great pleasure to meet so many happy lively well turned out dogs.

This very smart well marked red/wh/sable boy was not to be ignored with his clear blaze, well fringed and placed ears, good stop, dark inquisitive eyes, correct bite, well laid shoulders and good turn of stifle, keeping a level topline as he moved effortlessly with a nice plume of correct set and carried tail whilst in motion to finish the picture……BPD, BPIB

Lovely red/wh/sable young man with a well balanced head, large well set rounded fringed ears, nice stop, clear blaze & correct bite, Good lay of shoulder and turn of stifle, consequently moved a treat keeping a level top line with a good plume of well carried tail.

This striking young Tri boy has such a well proportioned head, with large correct set and well fringed ears, darkest of eyes, nice blaze correct bite good reach of neck, along with well laid shoulders, and with good spring of rib. He moved throughout with ease keeping a level top line with a well carried and plumed tail.

This tri boy is not dissimilar to 1 with his well proportioned head, large well fringed ears nice blaze well defined stop, correct bite good reach of neck and hare feet. He moved well keeping a level topline with good plume of correct set tail.

Yet another very nice tri boy with an air of importance from the darkest of eyes, framed by well set and fringed ears, good stop and correct bite, nice reach of neck well laid shoulders, hare feet good spring of rib and turn of stifle, consequently moved to perfection and completed the picture with his fine silky coat and good plume of correct set tail. Such a well proportioned boy with large rounded well fringed and correct set ears, well defined blaze and stop, dark inquisitive eyes, correct bite, nice reach of neck, hare feet, correct shoulder set and good hind angulation, nice spring of rib, single silky coat. He moved with ease keeping a level topline complimented with lovely plume of correct set tail to complete the picture. DCC

This very attractive r/s/w/ young man was not to be ignored with his mischievous dark eyes, well defined blaze, nice stop and lovely large well placed and fringed ears, correct bite, and dark pigmentation. Good lay of shoulder and hind angulation together with nice spring of rib. Moved to perfection keeping a level topline with a lovely plume of correct set tail to finish the picture.

This lovely blk/wh boy with the sweetest of heads yet masculine, well defined blaze with the large well fringed and set ears, dark eyes, correct bite, good lay of shoulders and hind angulation, kept a level topline on the move with a good plume of well carried tail

Lovely 8 yr old red/wh boy lively as could be as are all the dogs from this kennel, and certainly not showing his age with a very alert outlook, nice pencil blaze, dark eyes, well placed and fringed ears good lay of shoulder and spring of rib, obviously likes his food, but firm bodied nevertheless, lovely single silky coat, good plume of well set and carried tail.

Pretty red/sable fine and dainty babe with large nicely placed and fringed correct set ears, clear well defined blaze and scissor bite dark inquisitive eyes, good stop, nice reach of neck and good shoulder set and turn of stifle, she moved well keeping a even topline with a nice plume of tail

This little girl with the sweetest of nicely marked and proportunated tri heads, which was framed with correct set of well fringed ears for her age, nice stop and correct dentition, good shoulder set and promise of hare feet, nice spring of ribs, kept a level topline on the move with a good plume of tail

This confident little girl had such a pleasing inquisitive expression with her well flared and fringed ears, nice stop, dark eyes, good stop, scissor bite nice shoulder set and hind angulation, good reach of neck which gave her elegance on the move whilst keeping a level topline and finished off with a lovely plume of well set tail.

My star of the day………… this very eye catching clear red/wh young Butterfly Lady with excellent overall proportions, correct set well fringed large ears, well defined blaze with the darkest of inquisitive eyes, nice stop and correct dentition with dark pigmentation, nice reach of neck, well laid shoulders, hare feet and good hind angulation, She moved a dream keeping a level topline throughout complimented by a correct single silky coat and lovely plume of well set tail, showing off her typical Papillon attributes to perfection. Super little tri girl with nicely proportioned head, large correct set well fringed ears. clear blaze, nice stop, correct bite, dark eyes and nice reach of neck, well set shoulders, hare feet and good hind angulation, hence moved with ease keeping a level topline, and finished off the picture with a beautiful single silky coat together with well plumed tail.

Very nice clear red/wh lady with a well proportioned head, clear defined blaze, inquisitive dark eyes, correct set large well fringed ears good stop, scissor bite, and reach of neck leading to good lay of shoulder and hind angulation, well sprung ribs, moved well keeping a level topline with a good plume of correct set tail.

This aptly named red sable girlie full of importance, with a most pleasing head, large well fringed ears, dark inquisitive eyes, nice stop, scissor bite, hare feet, good shoulder placement and turn of stifle, well sprung ribs, moved with purpose with a nicely plumed correct set and carried tail.

Striking red/wh/sable young lady with beautiful black mask head markings, complimented by the darkest of eyes and large well fringed and set ears, good stop correct bite and nice reach of neck. Good lay of shoulder, hare feet and nice hind angulation, well sprung ribs, hence moved to perfection keeping a level topline throughout with a good plume of correct set tail.
2nd Mrs S. Stanbury Inixia Hot Stuff
Not dissimilar to 1, with a pretty well marked head, nice dark inquisitive eyes, good stop and correct bite, nice lay of shoulder, hare feet, good spring of rib and hind angulation, moved with zest keeping an even topline, finishing the picture with a good plume of well carried tail.

This beautiful clearly marked rich tri lady although standing alone was not to be ignored with her dark inquisitive eyes, well defined blaze good stop, correct bite and to completed the picture her large well set and fringed ears. Nice reach of neck giving way to well set shoulders, good hind angulation, and lovely hare feet. Madam moved a treat keeping a level topline with correct carriage of well plumed tail and silky coat….. showing off her many virtues that gained her the status ‘Champion’. RBCC

Lovely clear R/W/S lady of 10 ½ yrs old who had a most pleasing head, nicely marked, large well set fringed ears, good stop, dark pigmentation and wait for it……. A complete set of teeth, which have obviously been well cared for over the years, followed by a good reach of neck and shoulder set, moved well keeping a level topline with a nice plume of tail to finish the picture.
2nd Mrs G. A. Geary Rayol Lotus Blossom
This lovely tri lady of 14 years old is definitely young at heart with the most pleasing head, and a great zest for life, nice stop clear blaze, well fringed and placed ears, good lay of shoulders, she enjoyed every moment whilst on the move keeping a level topline with a good plume of well carried tail.
